OLYMPICS: El Campeon Farms was established in 2000 as a training base for high performance show jumpers and the family’s string of hunters, equitation and young horses. For the 2008 Olympics, Will Simpson and El Campeon’s Carlsson Vom Dach, were named to the US Team and helped to secure the gold medal in team show jumping. COMMERCIALS: Over the years the farm has also served as a location for various film, television and print shoots- from seven Budweiser Super Bowl Commercials to Modern Family episodes, Teen Vogue and Elle.

Saving a Dying Breed

Check out this amazing video that UC Davis just released! You can come cheer us on at the Fiesta of the Spanish Horse in the Fiesta of the Spanish Horse Colonial Spanish Horse Division April 26-28, 2018. You will see Jeff Ohaco and Abigail Anne Followwill show Cochise and Monterey in the Working Equitation division and then our stallions, Donatello and Truffles and mares, Isabella, Ariel and Coletta in the Colonial Spanish division. A big thank you to Nick Alexander Phillips for his incredible eye and guidance in helping us get these guys ready for their first halter classes!

And a special shout out to Dr. Richard Stevens of Conejo Valley Equine and UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine alum, Dr. Kristen Brown who have been an integral part of helping us manage this herd and helping us get them bred!

We are so grateful for this valuable collaboration with Dr. Amy McLean and the amazing minds that she has been able to recruit.

The Livestock Conservancy have been champions of these horses and so many at-risk and endangered breeds and we are so appreciative of their continuing efforts on behalf of so many wonderful, heritage livestock breeds.

So proud of our SCI horses, Monterey and Cochise! They competed in their first ever show on Sunday and we couldn't be happier with their performance! All the prep work and training with riders, Jeff Ohaco and Abigail Anne Followwill paid off! We think this is a great fit for them and look forward to more ⠀
