Joe, like a lot of guys, has always loved being outside in the warm summer air, lighting a fire, and cooking up a good meal for the family. Hot dogs, brats, burgers, steaks, chickenāyou na
me the protein, heād grill it! But soon, the passion grew. Smoking, grilling, open fire pits, flat topsāhe began experimenting with techniques, styles, and, of course, flavor. From savory seasonings and zesty marinades to bold brines and sauces, Joe dove headfirst into the world of BBQ. Eventually, the grill never cooledāhe was smoking meat year-round, even in snowstorms, just to serve up a smoky Christmas feast! Ribs, brisket, spatchcocked chickenāit was all amazing, but pulled pork quickly became the family favorite. So much so that Joe pitched the idea of a pulled pork fundraiser for the RV Gearheads #7814 Robotics Teamāand it was a huge hit, selling out in under two hours! In 2025 alone, we hosted two fundraisers that also sold out fast. Weāre even partnering with another local organization soon to help them host a pork fundraiser of their own. Where Itās Going
So, Joe and his incredibly talented, supportive, and beautiful wife (who may or may not be the one writing this š) decided it was time to take things to the next levelāand Burkās BBQ was born. Weāre working hard behind the scenes, and in the summer 2025, weāll be popping up with smoked pulled pork and more for the public to enjoy!
