An easy clipping guide for you swine exhibitors! Another couple of tips:
- Cordless clippers are a game changer.
- Train your pig to enjoy clippers, beforehand. Simply take your clippers into their pen, with no intention of actually clipping them, and get them used to the sound. Rub the vibrating clippers all over their body. This will make the process much easier when it comes tome to clip.

When we got her Will went to work on her! Anyone that knows Will knows he loves a solid black pig, but Beauty was so much more she has always had the best personality since day one! She has carried that trait with her as a sow….. she is a great mom to her babies and still makes time for Will to give her that belly rub she loves so much!!!!

This weeks Sow Spotlight is Black Beauty!
Black Beauty was purchased from Kilmer Swine Farm. Will showed her last fall, and had many top placings with her.
She was bred to "Never My Intention" from Drake Hook Showpigs.
We are super excited about her babies and will be sharing pictures in the next few days of her as a gilt, and her journey as a sow and the best part pictures of her babies.

Update on GA Farms !!!
Starting this journey with the feed store was something we did not plan it just kinda happened and we have enjoyed it and will continue to sell feed but we have added a little more!

Our kids have begged for a couple of years to start a show pig breeding operation. We have talked to several friends that are in the breeding side of things and got a lot of tips! We decided to take a jab at it this season! We have just a few sows but we took those and bred them to some pretty awesome boars and with fingers crossed they all caught and successfully went through the motions for us! We have some very healthy babies on the ground who are a few weeks old now! These pigs will be ready for the winter set and we are excited to start sharing them with you! The kids were apart of this from start to finish and they have been troopers even from pulling pigs with no hesistation at 2:00 am! I hope this is a start to something the kids will carry on and be so thankful for for years to come! We will start sharing some sow pictures from their show career and the boars they were bred to and the best part of all the Babies!!!! One promise I can make is these babies will be used to people and being loved on when they go to their new homes because they love to see the Grimes 4 coming in the barn!!!
