Saturdays Bakery Buttercup is a small-scale home bakery that specializes in using quality ingredients to make classic cakes and desserts. www.buttercuphouston.com

Growing up as the baker of the family, I decided to turn my passion for sweets into a business and launched my home bakery, Buttercup. When I'm not planning my next party or running around with my two little ones, I'm busy in the kitchen testing new recipes and perfecting old ones. Drawing inspiration from just about everywhere, I use quality ingredients to put a modern spin on classic favorites and love that I get to start each day with a bite of something sweet. At Buttercup everything is made completely from scratch with lots of love and attention to detail. After much thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Saturdays Bakery & Cake Studio.

This bakery has been so much more than a business—it has been a dream, a creative outlet, and a place where we’ve had the privilege of celebrating life’s sweetest moments with all of you.

We are incredibly grateful for every customer who walked through our doors, ordered a cake, attended a class, shared a post, or simply cheered us on. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know.

While this chapter is coming to an end, we are at peace with the decision. We gave it everything we had and then some. It has been such joy to meet and serve this community and we’ll cherish every second of it.

Our final business days will be this Saturday, June 20th with a kitchen clean out menu and Saturday, July 4th with chocolate chip cookies and focaccia. Stop by for your favorite treats, share a memory, and help us celebrate the end of an unforgettable chapter.

We’ve been doing a little studio refresh and a bit of shop maintenance the last few days and I’m loving all the changes.

The last few months (year?) have been hard behind the scenes. Really hard. Owning a business comes with so many unexpected, unpredictable and expensive setbacks that it’s hard to see the forest through the trees. For better or worse, I am very stubborn and so absolutely committed to making this place all that it can be. A little freshening up is just what the doctor ordered and I’m feeling much more motivated and ready to conquer the world (or at least survive May 🤪).

Mother’s Day always arrives just when I need it the most. It’s always the best day getting loved on by my sweeties and celebrating all the wonderful Mom’s in my life.

Hope you’ll stop in this weekend for some treats to make breakfast in bed extra special this year. 🩷

We had a little belated anniversary night in the city and it was so fun to stop in a few places that I’ve been wanting to go to for ages. was beyond delicious and we felt so spoiled by the staff. is exactly what I love about a bar and can’t wait to go back. was so fun and I can’t wait to try more options from the menu one day. All around 10/10 night to celebrate another year with 🩷
