Saturdays Bakery Buttercup is a small-scale home bakery that specializes in using quality ingredients to make classic cakes and desserts. www.buttercuphouston.com

Growing up as the baker of the family, I decided to turn my passion for sweets into a business and launched my home bakery, Buttercup. When I'm not planning my next party or running around with my two little ones, I'm busy in the kitchen testing new recipes and perfecting old ones. Drawing inspiration from just about everywhere, I use quality ingredients to put a modern spin on classic favorites a

nd love that I get to start each day with a bite of something sweet. At Buttercup everything is made completely from scratch with lots of love and attention to detail. I have been wanting to do this for a while and while my brain dump isn’t exactly revolutionary, it is helpful to pinpoint things that are new, insightful and worthy of note during the week. After doing this for so long, sometimes I’m proud of the things I learn and sometimes I’m hopelessly embarrassed by the things I’m just now figuring out. Our dear friends and stopped by yesterday to add this incredible floral installation to the studio side of our shop and it is BEAUTIFUL! Josue was the mastermind behind our much-loved bakery side florals and we are so happy that he agreed to come put to work while he mostly supervised 😁.

Josue has recently been unable to work due to a very unexpected and sudden medical issue that does not allow him to use his hand. As one of the most sought after and talented floral designers in the city this has been a very tough season for him to navigate.

If you’ve ever taken pictures in front of our shop or admired it in your stroll, it would be wonderful if you would consider donating to his gofundme (linked in my stories).

He has the biggest heart and I am forever grateful that he and Jackie showed up to create this masterpiece on our little shop. Thank you so much, I love you guys!

A week of weeks. I have to say, I really come alive after Valentine’s Day. The sun starts to come out again and I feel like I can breathe again for the first time since Halloween. January was full of fun and getting a jump on all the resolutions at once 😁. I’ve been on a journalling journey, started back on workouts and meal prepping, we’ve been going to church on Sundays, I’ve read/listened to five books, and decided to completely revamp the Saturdays business model lol. Please pray for everyone around me because I am not for the faint of heart. Who’s ready for February?! 😁
