Just like our friend here crowing at the end of the day, we too have become discombobulated. We need a farm reset and restock. We are taking the next week to do just that, we have pork and beef to pick up from the butcher and pigs and a steer to drop off and so much stuff in the freezers to can up for the fall and winter (soups will be coming to the market soon so comment your favorites below - especially anything you’d like to see)

We WILL be at the Bisbee Community Market this weekend (9/5/26) but we will NOT be there next Saturday (9/12/26). We will also NOT be at The Object Hotel Night Market this coming Wednesday. So stock up for the next 2 weeks! We will have the coolers and freezers stocked for tomorrow with pork (bacon, breakfast sausage, spare ribs, pork chops, ground pork, ground sausages, bratwurst - variety of flavors), chicken, ground beef, limited beef steaks, Barbacoa and smoked pulled pork, lots of cheeses, and all the things you didn’t know you needed but absolutely must have to accompany all the tasty meats.

Our next market will be on Wednesday, 9/16/26 and the following Saturday, 9/19/26.

See y’all tomorrow!

In Loving Memory of Donkey 🫏🤍

Today we said goodbye to a very special member of our farm family—our sweet Donkey.

His name may not have been very creative, but there was absolutely nothing ordinary about him. Donkey was one of those animals who quietly became part of the rhythm of everyday life. He was simply there—a familiar face, a set of long ears, a personality all his own, and a presence we never imagined our farm without.

There is something especially difficult about losing an animal you cared for every day. They become woven into your routines, your memories, and your family. You expect to see them standing in their usual place, hear them, feed them, check on them, and laugh at the little things they do. Then suddenly, their absence feels enormous.

Donkey was loved, and he knew he belonged here. We are grateful for every day we were fortunate enough to have him and for all the memories he gave our family.

Today, we took his halter to Finn’s Trail and placed it among the others on the Rainbow Bridge—a beautiful place created in remembrance of animals who were deeply loved and are deeply missed. Seeing his halter hanging there was heartbreaking, but there was also something comforting about knowing that a little piece of him now rests alongside so many other beloved animals.

Run free, sweet Donkey. No fences, no gates, and all the green grass you could ever want. 🌈🫏

You were more than livestock.
You were ours.
You were family.
And you will be missed more than you could ever know.

Until we meet again, Donkey. 🤍

Sometimes farm life comes with challenges….looking for some prayers for our Donkey. 🫏 He’s not doing so well….and it’s been for a few months now. Vet visit tomorrow to give us some answers(hopefully a good one🤞🏼🙏🏻🤞🏼🙏🏻🤞🏼). In the meantime, giving him all the treats, attention and love.

Side note…donkeys aren’t just a cute accessory on your homestead. They have jobs, just like all our animals. On the previous farm, our poor guy was neglected. Was he fed, sure, but neglected, yes. Animals need maintenance just like we do…and lack of maintenance causes lifelong issues, pain and eventually death. I hope before anyone gets ANY farm animals, I can only hope you do your research and know exactly what they need 🥺

Today has been a whirlwind of so much going on but we are headed to the The Object Hotel Night Market from 5-8. Come see us and our talented friends Weidenthal Family Farm/Raised in Cochise, Bisbone Ferments , Sweet Acacia Farm and Promise Farm with all the tasty products!

We will be offering the last of our heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and aged Cheddar with hints of blueberries. And a SPECIAL treat from our good friends Dozier’s Homestead & Bakery , some sourdough butter crackers to go with the tasty cheeses! They remind me of the most flakey, crispy buttery pie crust! We are extremely limited with the crackers so get there early!

PS…sorry for the crappy pics today, it was a really crazy day!

One of the best parts about shopping the market is enjoying what’s fresh, local, and actually in season—and getting to bring home amazing products from other vendors to pair with goodies from our own farm.

This week, those market finds came together to make quite possibly the most decadent Caprese sandwich I’ve ever eaten. 🤤

Fresh, ripe tomatoes at the absolute peak of tomato season from Sweet Acacia Farm, creamy mozzarella, fragrant fresh basil from Lynn, and that beautiful rustic sourdough bread from Bread Buddies - Bisbee, Arizona—all brought together into one seriously delicious sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t my idea solely…we got lucky and traded from the items (my other favorite part about our area is bartering).

There’s just something different about a Caprese when the tomatoes are truly ripe. 🍅 They’re juicy, sweet, a little tangy, and packed with flavor. Add fresh basil, creamy cheese, and good bread and suddenly something incredibly simple becomes downright spectacular.

That’s what we love about farmers markets: one vendor grows something, another makes something, we bring something from our farm, and together it becomes a meal you simply can’t recreate with out-of-season grocery store ingredients. ❤️

If you haven’t taken advantage of tomato season yet… this is your sign. Grab those gorgeous tomatoes while they’re here, visit your favorite Bisbee Community Market and The Object Hotel Night Market vendors, and make yourself a Caprese sandwich. You will NOT regret it! 🍅🌿🧀🥖

Eat local. Eat seasonal. Support your farmers, growers, bakers, makers & neighbors. ❤️ Now forgive me while I sleep off my food coma!

Growing up Sundays were reserved for faith and family time (remember when NOTHING was opened on Sundays)….things haven’t changed much for us but they do look a little different….except it’s faith, family and getting feed.

Who’s ready for The Object Hotel Night Market?!?!?!

🧀🍅 Fresh mozzarella is here—and there are SO many delicious ways to use it!

There’s something about fresh mozzarella that can turn the simplest ingredients into a meal worth getting excited about. Slice it thick for a classic Caprese with vine-ripe tomatoes and fresh basil, melt it over pizza, tuck it into a panini, layer it into lasagna, toss it with warm pasta, add it to a charcuterie board, or simply drizzle it with good olive oil, cracked pepper and a little sea salt.

And then there’s BURRATA. 🤤 Cut into that delicate outside and you’re rewarded with the rich, creamy center. Pair it with vine-ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil and a little balsamic and honestly…what more do you need?

But we think the really fun part is seeing what happens when our local market producers come together. ❤️

🍕 Start with Bisbone Ferments ’ par-baked pizza round

🥓 Add Raised in Cochise Lardon-cut pancetta for those smoky, salty little bites that crisp beautifully in the oven.

🌱 Finish it with Sweet Acacia Farm’s sprouted greens for a fresh, crunchy finish.

🧀 Then pile on that fresh mozzarella—or tear some creamy burrata over the top after it comes out of the oven.

One pizza. A handful of local producers. A whole lot of Southern Arizona goodness.

Fresh mozzarella + local marinara + par-baked crust + pancetta + living greens = dinner doesn’t have to be complicated to be REALLY, REALLY good.

Come see what happens when your local farmers and food producers start playing well together. 😉❤️
