We have our last batch of raw unfiltered honey available. It will be the last batch of the year. We have 16 Oz squeeze bottles for $10. We were unable to source any glass jars so most of our last batch is in squeeze bottles. This will go fast so don’t miss out. Pickup in tontitown you can also text 479-790-4549

Cutout footage from today.

This tree blew over in some storms a couple weeks ago and the homeowner we it had bees in it. We went and cut the hive section out of the tree and brought it home to remove them and give them a new home. Wish we had gotten more video of all the comb we removed and banded in the open frames. I’ll try and get some pictures tomorrow.

Well thanks to some local friends we were able to get these bees out of a fallen tree in their yard. After having no success getting them to move into a box we attempted to cut the top off of the log. We found the queen running around almost immediately. We caught her moved her to the new hive then attempted to salvage as much brood/comb/ honey as we could. They are all settled in the new box and doing well. Now if we can just keep them there!

It was a really rough winter/spring at Avey Honey Farm. As many others did we lost the majority of our hives during the winter and early spring. Due to a short honey flow last year, winter pests, and hives that wanted to move we found ourselves in bad shape. We are working to rebuild but it will take a while for us to get back up to speed. We will not have much honey available this year but what we do have I will post here when the time comes. We will render some more beeswax as well to try and continue to offer our homemade beeswax products. On a positive note the hives we do have are doing great and building up quickly. The queen in the first hive is one of the best I have seen. I’ve attached some pics of her below. Thank you for your support and your patience. And as always if you see a swarm call us and we’d be happy to give them a new home!

We got to do a neat promotion with Mattel for their new beekeeper Barbie. Chrissy got to take some young girls through the hives to give them a little taste of what it’s like to be a beekeeper.
