This has not been the year for Chick’s.

We unfortunately won’t be able to set up at the Peshawbestown powwow in a couple of weeks. (3rd weekend of August actually for any interested in attending 😉)

Between major life events that happened last year and this year for our owner and team, Chick’s has unfortunately had to take a backseat.

I need to emphasize this does not mean we are completely out of the game.

I repeat ‼️ WE ARE NOT DONE ‼️

We are creating a game plan for 2027 that involves business outside of powwow season. Keep an eye out for those announcements. 😏

Until then, we cannot express how much we appreciate the continued support of families, friends and community. ❤️

We’ll be back ya’ll. Best believe. ☀️

And, as always, Chick’s is the only ones this side of turtle island stuffing sausage gravy in a fry bread. 😎

Aanii Everyone!

We have some very sad news; due to the air quality being so bad from the wild fires in Canada and only getting worse, Chick’s has to cancel our weekend at the Sugar Island Traditional Pow Wow.

We’re traveling with an almost 2 year old and we don’t want to risk her health. Nor do we feel comfortable traveling without her for so many days.

We appreciate all of our community members, family and friends who have supported Chick's along the way! It’s unfortunate we haven’t been able to maintain our presence like we have wanted to but we are not giving up.

In 2027, we may have a more permanent location we can sell from and we still plan to be at the Peshawbestown Traditional powwow this August!

So don’t forget about us or our Breakfast Hot Pockets! We’re still the only ones this side of Turtle Island stuffing sausage gravy into a piece of frybread. 😉

Aanii Everyone! 👋🏽

Well, we’ve had a change of plans. Our owner, Julia Martell, admits she was a bit ambitious trying to hit four powwows this year. Her team was finally able to talk some sense into her!

Due to all of us working full time, as well as most of our team being full time members of team toddler, we will only be able to make it to TWO powwows.

We have to prioritize quality over quantity at the moment. We don’t want to risk comprising our ability to feed the powwow people of Michigan good food.

Sugar Island Traditional Pow Wow in July and the Peshawbestown Powwow in August will be it for us in 2026

‼️ BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS ‼️

At Sugar Island this year, we will be debuting an all day menu!

Keep an eye out for that announcement. 😉
