Awoke fresh as a spring meadow, bundled up a harvest of sweet prairie blooms, but the day turned into a real horn-swoggle. My iron horse threw a shoe and died on the trail, somehow lost track of my saddlebag and all my coin. The sun was high and the boss was sour before I ever punched in. To top it off, a fierce gale commenced to howling, splitting my skull right in two and now I'm going to bed with nothing but a belly full of fresh air.

I've been feeling the change in the air and not just because I saw a school bus turn the corner. The season has been slowly changing. Fragrance, temperature, colors, energy. Feeling melancholy, but it's a welcome change.

Aren't we all so inspired this week? I've enjoyed watching and hearing so many beautiful tributes to the Queen of Country Music, Dolly Parton.
What a great lady. I couldn't choose a favorite song of hers if I tried.
Are there really any words that could fully describe the bright spot she was, and still is, in this world? What a powerful force for good.
What an incredible life she lived.

As far as I can see, we are headed straight for hell without her angel voice and contagious giggle in our midst. And Heaven forbid we lose George Strait, we will certainly be doomed, destruction will be imminent. 😄

On August 29th flower farms all over the state will be blooming with local flower activities. It's a great way to support local business and enjoy locally grown Utah flowers!

I'll be celebrating with a western flair a week early at Sagebrush Social!
On August 20th,
come put together your own flower bunch at the bouquet bar, spice up your western style and enjoy a wildrag (cowboy scarf) demo then make your very own scarf slide with flowers!

It's August.
The flowers are still not sure they want to participate.
I may have to resort to other forms of farming:
Looking at bindweed production
Considering prickly lettuce jams and jellies
Possibly hiring the hornet gangs for delivery drivers
Also, researching sidewalk home-baked goods

I had seriously thought of building a sauna or splash pad but there's no need to go to that expense when all we need is right out the back door.
