While everyone else is mourning the loss of a great icon I'm mourning the loss of a well known lady in the WV Dairy Goat world.

Doris, like most from her era was one of a kind and wouldn't sugar coat anything!!

She definitely had her own way of doing things, I was only ever at her farm once, as a teenager but admired her does for years and loved holding a conversation with her any chance I got!!

I think I'm due for a complete herd reduction.. 😑

Idk where or when to start but I've got to get more time to each goat and less time in the barn.....

I mean I obviously have some "lifers" I just need more time for me and then individually....

I think I'm sitting at 33 plus a sheep... And tbh that's about 13 too many 😬 🫣

Don't ask me where or when or who, but I feel like a major shift is going to have to happen.

And yes, a lot has to do with the doe that's sick.. because if she passes, I feel an entire part of the herd will leave.... Sounds harsh but she's the only reason I kept some and bought a new buck this year..... :-/😑

Keep a special little goat in your prayers! 😭. Found her burning up, not wanting to eat, just not feeling good at all this morning...

She is an older doe and a special one at that!! 🥺

Going to give her to works on meds, go to work and have people keep a close eye on her for me today.. 🙏🤞🙏

I hate this weather 😭💔😭
