The cold snap has made it easy to want to stay inside figuring out my seed starting schedule for the year. I source most of our supplies from within New England, with a few notable exceptions. Come join us in our somewhat-weekly newsletter for additional info, we would love to tell you more! Link to our website in our bio, and you can sign up on the home page.

In my other job, continuing education is a legal requirement, not a choice. Maybe nobody is revoking my license to practice if I don't do some farm continuing ed, but it's every bit as necessary. I spent last weekend attending a 2 day, 12 hours a day, virtual flower farming conference focused on sustainable business management for farms. This weekend focused on farm management, but I also spend a lot of time researching growing techniques, post-harvest handling, pest management and many other things that go into the art and science of producing a good quality cut flower.

She delivered on her own no problem, but she was not so sure about the whole nursing thing at first, which made for a long night.

I don't usually love multicolored flowers, but something about these smokey purple gladiolus really intrigue me. And they look great with all green flowers, which I do love.
