You don't need a lot of land to produce your own food. You just need the right knowledge and the WANT TO, to become more .

We live in the middle of the city and we made a plan to break from THE SYSTEM as much as we could. It's been almost a year since we started implementing the vision AND there ain't no stopping us now!

Our rabbits have been in our urban rabbitry for almost 2 weeks and they are 10 weeks old.

They aren't old enough to breed yet but we are benefiting from their manure. Rabbit maure is cold manure, meaning it can go directly into the garden without composting.

1 year ago we didn't know what an urban homestead was or should look like. We just began writing the vision (Habbakuk 2:2), doing the research and putting in the work!

What we accomplished is not perfect and definitely not ALL we plan to build BUT this is our 1st Fruits of a life of self sufficiency & food security.

She was named PUMPKIN by our little cousin Angel.

Along with EIRA she will be part of our foundational breeding stock ♥️

If you live in an urban space and don't have much spaces RABBITS are an excellent choice to produce your own meat.

They are 🤫

We added our FIRST New Zealand white rabbit (doe) she is 8 weeks old. She was born to a litter of seven, so she comes from a good line & she is super friendly 😇

But we could use your help? What should we name her?

Today is 🐔 coop cleaning day 🙌 🧼 ✨️

Coop cleaning includes removing the manure and getting it into the compost bin.

Putting some bedding down (pine shavings) and sprinkling done diatemeous earth (DE). DE helps with pest control and absorbing moisture 💦 & odor!

Nothing is better than fresh eggs & it is SO satisfying knowing that you can live in an urban space, walking into your backyard or patio or balcony and collect eggs 🥚
