A Purposeful Pause: Rebuilding from the Ground Up
This year, Mendocino Wine Company made a deliberate and strategic decision: we’re not farming our vineyard acres for grape production.
Not because we’re stepping back — but because we’re leaning in.
We’re channeling our resources into what matters most in this market: building out our custom services platform. Our mission is to connect growers, négociants, and wineries in meaningful, efficient ways — and that means staying focused, nimble, and client-driven.
So instead of investing in an estate crop, we chose to invest in something even more foundational: our soil.
We’ve grown a massive and diverse cover crop — the most powerful amendment or input for long-term soil health — and are roller-crimping it in place to build biomass, retain moisture, and reduce fire risk. Strategic grazing also helps us manage the canopy and cycle nutrients.
This is not idle land. It’s regenerative land — getting stronger, healthier, and more resilient for what is next.
With no internal fruit in the pipeline, we’re fully focused on supporting our clients harvest. From crush and fermentation to bulk storage, bottling, and logistics, we’re here to help North Coast growers and brand owners make and move great wine — even in a tough market.
Whether you're looking to create for your own label or position wine for bulk sale, MWC is ready to help you make the most of this vintage.
