I am proud. Proud of our program, my momma and family who make the day to day cattle business happen.
You see a backdrop photo, but what I see is hours on the phone with mom, breeding cows, preg checking cows, hours in the hay field, cleaning barn pens, emergency vet calls, the heartaches, the midnight and 3AM calf checks, and honestly for me I look at all this and can’t help but remember just how hard my grandpa and grandma worked to make this all possible and ever heifer that I ever walked in the ring that made out to be a damn good cow!
I am proud, of where we have been, and where we are going- but most of all I am proud of my mom who’s always the one with her nose to the grind stone making this all happen.
The kid on the halter has a steer for a year, breeders spend years making it all come together.
I’ll never stop saying it but Hereford Steers are something special, see the 3rd photo for photo evidence.
Congratulations Alaina Russell for having a good run with this steer and thank you for all the work and dedication you poured in to blaze this year!
