March celebrates National Agriculture Month.

There’s something special about watching a piece of ground grow into something that supports life, feeds families, and continues the legacy of agriculture. We’re proud to be doing our small part to keep farming strong. 🇺🇸🌾

“If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil. He will give you lush pastureland for your livestock, and you yourselves will have all you want to eat.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭✝️

Grain-finished beef doesn’t happen fast it happens right.

Over 120+ days, our cattle are carefully transitioned onto a balanced grain ration that supports healthy growth and consistent, high-quality beef.

Beef is naturally nutrient-dense, packed with protein, iron, zinc, and B vitamins to fuel real life.

One well-finished steer can provide over 400 pounds of beef nearly a year’s worth for a family of four.

Know what you’re eating. Buy local beef.

Fun fact: Cattle produce heat through rumen fermentation. When microbes break down hay and grain, the digestive process generates metabolic heat, which naturally raises their body temperature. Feeding in the late evening during winter means peak fermentation happens 2-6 hours later right during the coldest part of the night helping keep cattle warmer. In summer, evening feeding shifts that heat production to the cooler nighttime hours, reducing heat stress during the day.

That’s why we feed our grain in the evening. It keeps our herd happy, healthy, and comfortable.

If you see cows standing out in the snow with snow still resting on their backs, it means they’re retaining heat like champs. Their winter coats trap warmth so well that their body heat doesn’t melt the snow. Built-in insulation. God’s design is pretty cool like that. They do enjoy their dry area!

I grew up being taught not to bond with livestock raised for food. The idea was that distance made the job easier. Over time, I’ve learned something different. Today, I bond with every beef animal that comes through our feedlot, and I believe that connection is part of responsible livestock care.

These cattle are raised to nourish families, and we don’t take that lightly. From arrival to finishing, they’re provided quality feed, clean water, and a calm, low-stress environment. Gentle handling, consistency, and patience are part of our daily routine, not just ideals.

People often ask if it’s hard to get attached knowing the end result. The honest answer is it can be. But farming teaches you to respect the circle of life. Raising livestock means understanding that life sustains life, and our role is to honor that responsibility with care, gratitude, and intention.

The bond we build with our cattle matters most when it counts. Familiar handling reduces stress, improves safety, and allows cattle to remain calm during transport and processing. We believe the final moments matter just as much as the first. Our goal is for every animal to experience care, calm, and respect from the day they arrive to their last.

At the end of the day, we trust God’s design for the land, the animals, and the families this beef will feed. We’re grateful for the responsibility he’s given us, and we work to honor it daily raising cattle with care, humility, and purpose. That’s the kind of farming we believe in.

Many people have asked how much beef you receive with a quarter, half, and whole beef. Although we do not currently offer quarters, we hope to do so in the near future, so we went ahead and broke that down as well. Below is a breakdown of what you can expect from each share. We hope this helps, and we look forward to a great year in 2026!

Don’t forget to eat beef and support your local farmer!! Happy New Year!!

People take so many things for granted as in having a warm home, a hot shower, clothes on our backs, and the ability to pay our bills. Today, I’m thankful for planting tiny seeds and being able to watch them grow. It seems silly but is a true blessing. Without God providing the rain and the right temperatures, none of this would be possible.

Germination takes time, not just in the soil but in everyday life too. We plant seeds and expect immediate results, but growth requires patience.

Trust the process and the harvest will be worth the wait.

It’s that time again to get on the list for our spring processing. This group will start on grain very soon and will process around April 2026, just in time for tax season.

Whole or half beef available. Space is limited for this group as most of our spots are already filled with returning customers. Don’t miss your chance to stock your freezer with fresh, local, all natural beef raised with care right here on the farm.

We process every spring and fall so the next group after this won’t be until fall 2026.

Message or call me with any questions. I’d love to help you get your name on the list.
