Happy 2 weeks, little babes 🥰 Cersi & Sansa are thriving and starting to gain a little mobility, wobbling about their box. They're so soft & sweet!

All my babies ❤️❤️ it's taking them (and me) a bit to get used to, but they're all adjusting at their own rate. Almost all of them seem to really enjoy the outside area (which will be enlarged with time, this was a "have to finish now" plan). They love the rafters and being able to look down on you when you go inside. And a few of them really enjoy the duck side of the coop... so far they haven't even paid any attention to the ducks, but we're hoping to completely seal off their access so that nothing DOES happen. One thing at a time, but everyone doing well in their new surroundings.

We started with 2 large ducks. Then we got 9 babies. Then our large ducks vanished. Then the babies started dying. We have 3 out of 11 left! One boy, two girls - LadyDuck, Nymeria & Ghost. They are housed right next to the cats in the cat shed and they don't seem to mind one bit. But they definitely prefer swim time over shed time.

Our remaining two girls are starting to open their eyes! 🤗 They're such little sweeties 💕

I battled with Arya all day, moving her babies from the pig hut again after little Cow had been squished. Then she only moved one before I caught her the last time. With the storm that came in last night, all 3 babies were in with mom, in the shop kennel and I thought that's where she would keep them - safe and dry. I check on them first thing this morning and see the 2 black girls in the pig hut, no white Snow anywhere. Keegan helped me look, but he's nowhere. Not even squished in the hut. So, then there were 2... 😭

I'm mad at mom for moving them and putting them in danger, even though I understand that's HER safe place. I'm mad at myself for trusting her not to keep moving them and putting them in danger. So from now on, babies will stay in the shop kennel, locked up. I will put Arya in with them for an hour, every 3 hours and then keep her locked with them overnight. I can't trust her with the kennel opened, and this is my last shot before having to bring them in away from mom to bottle feed.

Happy one week, baby Cersi & baby Sansa!

Had visitors today... lol. They only stuck around for 5 minutes but it was still cool.

Spencer went and checked on the kittens this morning, and said they were gone. I went down to the pigs and saw 3 babies laying in a corner together. Peeked in further and the 2 pigs where cuddled in the middle of the hut with Arya cuddled in the in the back corner. It was cute for a minute. Then the pigs jumped up and then I saw the 4th kitten, squished under a pig. The reason I don't allow her to keep moving them.

The problem is, Arya thinks she's a pig. They're her BFFs. She sleeps and eats with them and has since she first showed up on the farm. It's going to be a challenge keeping her babies away from the pigs until they're old enough to move out of the way. I'll be thinking of another alternative all day today, to make it easy and safe for everyone.

RIP little baby boy, Cow. 💙

"Gotta get my good side"

Kittens are impossible to get pictures of when they're so tiny and you're trying to get actual good pictures. Two boys, two girls. We upgraded the kitty box into a larger kennel. Momma Arya is out with her pig besties, probably telling them all about her cuties. The plan is to get her back in the kennel with the babies at night and to have her keep them where they are, instead of moving them back to the pig hut during the day.

Now, for the name reveals.... by in photo order:

I love coming home to babies! 🤗 I knew she would have them in with the pigs and the girls were being amazing! They were both outside the hut watching and nudging me constantly as I sat closer to them. I gathered up momma and babies and have them bonding in a quiet cat carrier for now. Not 100% sure what I'm going to do with everyone, because I know that as soon as I open the door, she'll be trying to move them, either back to the pig hut or somewhere else. Poor momma Arya is sad and sore but otherwise seems to be doing okay - very attentive to the babies and letting them all nurse. Two boys, two girls.

They have names already, duh. But I'll get individual pictures once I figure out where I'm settling them and introduce them properly. For now, they're loving life on the outside with their sweet little mom.

Little girl is getting bigger and bigger. Kittens will be here within two weeks (I'm guessing) and I'm really hoping she has them somewhere that's accessible to me, so I can keep an eye on any problems that may arise from her being so tiny and inexperienced. Send good vibes for healthy babies!

Remember when we got 9 ducklings? Well, we're down to 4... not sure what's going on this time around but we can't seem to keep them alive! So far, these four are looking strong but we THINK only one is a girl....which is the opposite of what we were hoping for. They certainly seem to be enjoying their first little dip in their "pool"

Sad note - we did loose our year old free ranging pair, Andy & Pru, last week so we will be keeping these guys fenced in year round to prevent anything from snatching em up!

Babies first time out of the barn! Well have to keep a close on the babies, since Angela isn't a great mom and doesn't seem to care that they aren't by her side, or even close to her at all. But they're loving the fresh air and running room!
