Wishing everyone's favorite toddler-going-on-teenager cuddle cow, Olive, a Happy 1st Birthday!! It's crazy how fast the year went by, but man oh man, what a fun year it's been!

Here's a highlight reel from the TT live--apologies in advance for the singing. 😬 We tried to get the adorable party hat that Colleen & Jared got for Peppermint's birthday on Olive, but she was (sadly) not having any of it. And apparently Barley told Olive about how awful bananas and/or peanut butter are because she also wanted nothing to do with her cake. 😭😂 Ah well, Biscuit, Lilly, and the rest of the cows that do enjoy the cake got to partake, and Olive got extra treats later.

Brian and I started pulling piglets out of the main pig area last night as they are old enough to be on their own and their moms are ready, too. Some went quietly, others put on quite the dramatic show. All were pretty happy when they settled in and realized there is browse to be had, though.

We have them in the small garden for now, but will transition them to other areas as they get bigger and turn up whatever land they have access to. If you're looking to buy some piglets, we have various types and ages.

After much anticipation, many sleepless nights with multiple camera checks, and going two days over, Lilly started laboring the night of 5/14. I had gone to bed to get some rest with Brian staying up to keep an eye on things. Not long after I fell asleep, Brian came up saying Lilly had been pushing for about 10 mins. At 12:50 AM, Lilly's water bag broke, so we knew it was time to head to the barn. We breathed a sigh of relief when we saw hooves positioned correctly, and another when we saw a little tongue flicking and a nose. At 1:06 AM, Basil entered the world, completely unassisted, and looking very much like his big half-sister, Olive. As always, Lilly did amazing and has been taking great care of him. She really is the best mama! 🥰

Basil will be the start of our small breeding program and will be available for sale once weaned. Until then, he'll be getting spoiled, loved on, and worked with. We do plan to offer cow cuddling sessions (including bottle feedings) with him, so stay tuned for announcements.

Also, we finally had a moment to look back through the guesses to see who got the closest to Lilly's calf arrival and gender, and Maureen Ann got 2 of the 3 correct (date and gender)! For your prize, you can pick either a Granite Oak Farm t-shirt or half off a 30 mins or 60 mins session, your choice--you can PM us with your pick!

Megan Genereux you came in 2nd with the correct date and closest to the time! You can take your pick of a Cow Whisperer magnet, GOF keychain, or cow sticker of your choice! PM us with which option you'd like and we can send it to you.

Lilly had her baby in the wee hours of the morning. It's our first bull calf and he is adorable! Details and more pics coming soon...

We brought Lilly out for some fresh air and grass, and to let her stretch her legs (and maybe get some ligaments ready 👀) today. Her pins, however "small" are still hanging on as of last check this evening.

With that, since most of the date/times guesses from our last video have come and gone, you're welcome to put your round 2 guesses in the comments. 😁

Happy Mother's Day! 💛💐❤️

We're still (not so patiently) awaiting the arrival of Lilly's calf. We did multiple camera checks last night, so we're dragging a little bit today, but Lilly is good and enjoying being even more spoiled than usual. 😁

She's definitely getting more uncomfortable, up and down fairly often over the past 24 hrs, and has been licking her belly a fair amount. Not gonna lie, but I think it would be really cool (and fitting) for her to deliver today. We'll keep you all posted, though!!

Alright, guys--we are officially on calf watch for Miss Lilly! Last week, I noticed she was starting to bag up, and tonight when we checked on her, her pins are either gone or really close. This means baby could arrive as soon as tonight or within the next few days.

Her official due date is 5/13, but she had Olive 4 days early (unsure about Peppermint as we don't know when she was conceived). Feel free to guess date, time, and gender--it could be a heifer or a bull--and whoever gets the closest will win a prize!
