Have you been thinking "It's time to get healthy?" Maybe you've tried to reach your health goals on your own, but haven't been successful. Perhaps you're just not sure how to get started or tired of the yo-yo effect.

These were the same thoughts Patrick and I had for several, I mean SEVERAL months in 2024. We had the best of intentions, made a plan, purchased healthy food, got rid of unhealthy food, and then after a week on our "diet" . . . took some rabbit trails that led us further away from our goals. Same?

Are you feeling the winter blues? ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ Are you ready to say GOODBYE to clouds, snow, and chilly temperatures, and HELLO to basking in the warm spring sunshine with green grass and flowers popping up all around? โ˜€๏ธ I certainly hear you!!! I'm ready, too! ๐Ÿ˜Š

But remember, we have to go through a couple of months to get to those warm days ahead. โ˜€๏ธ Good news this week!! Punxsutawney is predicting only 6๏ธโƒฃ more weeks of winter!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

To help you overcome the winter blues, I thought I'd share 6๏ธโƒฃ health tips to help you stay on top of your "A Game" and get through the next 6๏ธโƒฃ weeks with success! It's about mindset.

๐Ÿ’ง Stay Hydrated ~ Don't let the chilly weather fool you. Your body still needs water. Sip throughout the day and aim for at least 64 oz of water each day. Your body will thank you!

๐Ÿก Keep Moving ~ Being indoors doesn't mean being idle. Declutter your space and mind, tackle a puzzle, or prep meals for the week. I always enjoy a fun YouTube exercise video with upbeat music.

๐Ÿ˜ด Don't Skip the Sleep ~ Shorter days equals more reasons to rest. Stick to a sleep schedule for better energy and focus. Try for 7-9 hours of sleep each night (or day for shift workers).

๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Stress Less ~ A little self-care goes a long way. Try meditation, stretching, or going on a brisk walk.

๐Ÿ”• Digital Detox ~ Give your mind a break from screens. Swap scrolling for reading a book, journaling, or engaging in some prayer time.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Stay Social ~ Take some time to connect with others and do something fun and active together. I love having a game night with friends and family or creating handmade cards.

๐Ÿ˜Š Remember, the winter blues don't stand a chance when you are armed with ways to stay engaged and focused on being healthy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have found, it doesnโ€™t matter the topic, but this statement has always been true for me.

๐Ÿ”Ž As a teacher, if I focus on good student behaviors, the poor behaviors diminish.

๐Ÿ”Ž As a mom, if I focus on positive outcomes when my child is struggling, the child calms and begins to refocus on what can be.

๐Ÿ”Ž As a wife, if I focus on calm interactions when a disagreement occurs, the outcome is a win-win.

๐Ÿ”Ž As a Christian, when I focus on doing whatโ€™s right, engaging in prayer, and helping others, my life is more peaceful and calm.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey Friends!!! ๐Ÿ‘‹ If we havenโ€™t officially met yet, Iโ€™d like to introduce myself to you!!!

Iโ€™m Annette . . . a child of God, wife, mom, grandma, friend, entrepreneur, educator, digital content creator, coach, author, crafter, and pianist.

I love to read, travel, camp, garden, learn, help others, sew, and spend time with God, family, and friends. This is how I recharge and refresh! ๐Ÿค—

Although I am truly blessed to have so many people in my life who love me, and I love them, I needed to feel the same way about myself. I love the "person" I am, but I don't love the way I feel about myself.

It wasn't long ago that I was feeling pretty crappy: aches, pains, tiredness, low energy, avoiding mirrors, and watching a scale head north even though I was trying my best to prevent it. I knew I needed to take charge of my health.

Fortunately, as an educator, I love learning! Over the years, I have spent so much time raising my children, working for others, and improving my instructional knowledge and craft that I haven't taken the time to take care of myself and improve my health. Sure, I was cognizant of what needed to change, but I lacked the know-how.

Well, this changed in 2014. After I completed my doctoral degree in education, I began studying health. I read lots of books and implemented positive changes in not only my diet but my family's diet, too. The result . . . we were all getting healthier! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Fast forward ten years . . . while we continued getting healthier, there were some setbacks, too. I continued to work through the challenges to find success. However, most recently, it's been a struggle to focus, and I saw some of the challenges resurface.

Long story short (you can read more about my journey in my posts), it was time for me to take charge again. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ This time, I hired a health and wellness coach to help me along this journey. I didn't want to continue feeling crappy anymore. After all, I have amazing grandchildren to run around with and places to travel during my upcoming retirement. โค๏ธ

With the support of my coach, a health community, a food plan that works, and education along the way . . . I experienced a mindset shift! โค๏ธ Now I feel back in control of my health . . . my future!

My friends, this is why I am SO excited to share my progress and this program. I don't know who needs to learn about this. I don't know who is feeling the same way I felt. My goal is to look and feel my best and be the healthiest me that I can be. I want to be IN CHARGE of my own health!

How are you feeling today? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Six weeks ago I was feeling pretty crappy: aches, pains, tired, low energy, avoiding mirrors, and watching a scale head north even though I was trying my best to prevent it. On top of that, I joined the "double nickel club" (55yo), and am protesting the benefits. NO thank you! Anyone relate? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Just before Thanksgiving, I saw a friend's post sharing she had lost 28 lbs in 5 weeks. Okay, I'm listening. What are you doing? So, I reached out to my friend to learn more. She connected me to her health coach, Stacy. A few days later, I reached out to Stacy and took advantage of the free health assessment to learn more about how to get healthy. I knew I could do it, but I needed a health coach, community, and mindset shift.

In early December, I decided to take charge of my health and mindset (Patrick joined me๐Ÿ˜Š). Yes, during the holidays. Within four days, my aches and pains were GONE! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Within ten days, I lost 8.8 lbs. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป We conquered the holidays and embarked on a two-week vacation. Patrick and I have never eaten healthier during any holiday or vacation - guilt-free! After our vacation, I was down another 2 lbs. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Six weeks in, I released 15 lbs and 8 inches. Patrick is way ahead of me just shy of 30 lbs. (guys . . . they lose it faster).

My friends, this is why I am SO excited to share my progress and this program. ๐Ÿ˜Š I don't know who needs to learn about this. I don't know who is feeling the same way I felt. My goal is to look and feel my best and be the healthiest me - medication-free - that I can be. I want to be IN CHARGE of my own health! Can you relate?

The past six weeks have been such a game-changer for both Patrick and me. Having Stacy as my health coach has been instrumental.

Have you ever thought about water?? I mean, this clear, versatile liquid that is used for so many things from cleaning, washing, swimming, producing electricity, growing fruits and vegetables, cleaning battle wounds, putting out fires . . . there is such a long list.

God even knows how important water is for us when he created our beautiful planet and covered it with 70% water on day 1 (Gen 1:1-2)!

As I continue to learn and focus on living my best life being healthy, Iโ€™m amazed at all the ways water helps me reach my goals. Drinking at least 64oz (goal is 80-100) everyday, I mean every day, is a huge step in being healthy. Drink up!!

Tonightโ€™s menu: Chicken Alfredo with Spaghetti Squash topped with a light mushroom sauce sprinkled with fresh parsley. ๐Ÿ˜‹
