We have left the era of "if I move to this state, I'll be safe". When I started Homesteaders of America in 2016, I heard this phrase over and over again. Idaho, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia—these were all great options to move to in regard to freedoms for farm and family. I would very quietly say to many "but eventually it won't be that way". People didn't listen to me, and that was ok.

When 2020 hit, people began to believe me. But a false reality rose up to make people believe that some states were still better than others. But in rolls 2026, where we are now seeing some of those very states begin to flip their stances on freedoms. Extremely strict homeschooling and health laws. Crazy livestock requirements. The list is endless.

Here is the reality that you, homesteader, need to understand. The years of choosing where you live by state legislature is over. The American infrastructure has been infiltrated so radically, that a new stand must now be taken. The era of building and finding community rather than just choosing a new homeland based on politics is now taking root. We have entered a time of building the parallel, the real, the long-lasting.

Friends, don’t run. Like Nehemiah standing on the wall—one hand on the sword, one hand on the trowel. Build the systems. Build the relationships. Build the community. I promise you, you won’t regret it. Because when the hard times come, it is not the land that will matter the most, it is the community of like-minded friends, family, and individuals that will show up when freedom-haters come to knock on your door.

We have a couple of hogs up for discussion.
First is Finley, a mostly Durock boar, a proven producer. He is about 2-3 years old, healthy, and extremely friendly.
Second up is Fiddle his son. He is Durock/Berkshire mix, about 6 1/2 months old and weighs approximately 120 lbs. He is an intact male and is also very friendly. All our pigs are handled and loved on to produce good natured hogs. The female and siblings are NOT available and are shown only so people can see the mom and what the condition of her babes. If you are interested in either or both of the boys please message us. We will not answer questions of price in the comments section.
