Super grateful to DashMart for taking its chance with me and offering my first wholesale opportunity. Excited for 2024 and the wholesale strategy planned for Kavaia 🎉

Thank you 2023 for the pop-ups, first World Tea Expo, went back to Tonga to talk about kava trading and finally found Kavaia's new manufacturing home while meeting some amazing people along the way ❤️

2024 we will embark on new adventures and new heights, can't wait to see what's in store 🍵

Kavaia has been busy!

Before the year is out we wanted to thank .fund and for hosting the ICA Fund Community Showcase : Culture & Capital. I had a blast meeting other like-minded brands and meeting community folks in the Bay interested in stocking Kavaia Teas in their stores.

I am grateful and humbled to still be here and so thrilled for next year's plan of expansion.

One of my favorite memories of my grandmother were of her making her signature scones 🥰 despite being busy with her craft making, she had time for her baking.

My sisters have carried the tradition of making her scones and I was able to convince my sister to bake some while having some tea 🍵✨

Some of our pop-ups next year will feature my grandmother's signature scones and tea.

I am exploring options in creating a menu that will compliment our teas. Can't wait to bring to you what we will create 🪄

Kava has always held a very sacred and symbolic meaning to the Tongan culture and people.

"The strength of the Tongan culture is in the kava" beyond the root itself, kava has always brought our people together. In our communities kava has granted people the opportunity to tell stories, share history, sing songs while connecting with elders and today's generation. Kava holds space for talanoa. (talanoa means to talk or to hold space for dialogue.)

Kavaia Tea is a brand that represents my community and people that have inspired me along the way. My upbringing in Tonga allowed me the chance to share with the world our island, our foods and our stories. From the fruits I enjoyed as a little girl picking fruit from our backyard in Lotoha'apai to being raised by uncles who were farmers and understood the significance of our soil and the relationship we held to our communities.

It is important to understand the special meaning kava holds to Tongans but also the hope it brings when we share it with pride knowing we can share our culture + community while striving to contribute to the economic growth to growers in Tonga.

We share these teas with our heart as it embodies the connection we hold to our land, people and future.

I look forward to sharing with you all the stories, the traditions and culture as we push for our commitment to grow Kavaia.

Last Saturday was a vibe 🫶🏾 at the . A special thank you to and for having us. It truly was special for us to connect with our community and see our people in their element sharing with everyone their small businesses.

To every person that came by our table to sample teas and purchase, thank you so much. We appreciate the support and love you show myself and my little family. This is a family-owned business and we pride ourselves in the work we do in providing you with the best kava teas around🍵✨

We are excited for other events to come and other products we are adding to Kavaia's product line.

Tonga was everything I needed it to be for me - a place of rest and reset 🌊🌺

Kavaia Tea was shared and ideas were exchanged and made. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to go and visit the motherland and see my family. There's much more to explore and see so another visit is expected soon.

It's time to continue the work! The work here is never-ending but there's much joy made when it is authentic and real. Connecting with people + community is our thing and I look forward to sharing with you what lies ahead 🍵✨

Stop by the South Pacific Food Fest for some great food and drinks while checking out the Pasifika artisans and small businesses who are collectively coming together to share with you their products and goods. It's perfect timing to start the holiday shopping 🛍️ 🎁

A huge shout out and thank you to our amazing hosts with Tokemoana and Anthony's Kitchen for allowing us this opportunity. We can't wait to share the day with you and our fellow vendors.

Thank you to our partners at for the opportunity to pop-up at Kiel's in Berkeley and Faherty's in Palo Alto, this was our first time trying out in-store pop-ups and we had a blast every time.

From meeting the staff of the store to meeting customers who would stop by our table, we appreciated your time and getting to know our brand.

This fall will bring a lot more pop-ups and presence so watch for our holiday pop-up schedule drop and you can stop by any of the locations near you to pick up your refill of tea 🍵

The theme for this year's Uike Lea Faka-Tonga 2023 is 'E tu'uloa 'a e Lea faka-Tonga 'o ka lea'aki 'i api, siasi (lotu), mo e nofo-'a-kāinga, which means the Tongan language will be sustainable if used at home, church and in the wider community.

Stationary cards have done well at our pop-ups so I wanted to have cards that shared a bit of our Moana culture 🌊🌺 it also gives us an opportunity to share and highlight the diversity and unique cultures that embody and represent the Oceania.

Our new blank stationary cards are available. Use these cards for any occasion: birthdays, well wishes or just a thinking of you.

I'm a firm believer that if you want to build and refine what quality means to you then you have to take your time and do it right 🤝🏾

🍵 We changed manufacturers on our packaging and was able to maintain our eco-friendly packaging ♻️ (our pouches and tea bags are both biodegradable) 🌎

🍵 We also added our "Kava Sourced from Tonga" badge to our pouches to acknowledge our kava root coming from Tonga and to encourage working with local farmers and supporting local economies.

🍵 We achieved receiving our Cottage Food Permit too, so we had to make that official on our bags.

Our Coconut Turmeric Ginger blend is finally here and it's everything I wanted it to be ✨💜🥥

Kavaia Golden Tea Latte Recipe 🍵🥥💜✨

- 2 tea bags of Kavaia's Coconut Turmeric Ginger
- 1 tbsp of unsweetened & dairy free almond + coconut creamer (I used Nutpods creamer) add more or less for your preferred cup
- 1 tsp of maple syrup or honey

**Steep tea bags for 5 mins and then squeeze out the extra turmeric, ginger and coconut goodness into your cup 🌴
