Like the rest of Florida, we have been praying for rain. Unfortunately, with rain comes lightning, and today we woke up to a sight no cattle farmer ever wants to see: four of our top-bred donor cows and a calf under a tree after being struck by lightning.

While we are devastated to lose some of our top cattle, we know their genetics will continue to be represented in our herd for years to come. LB Ms. Stormi, LB Ms. Black Pearl, and LB Ms. Jolene had a great run here at Lettelier Brangus, and we will forever be proud to have raised them.

🌼LB Ms. Irene 🌼

This ultra-black heifer has some of the coolest genetics in the fall-born heifer group. She goes back to Silveiras Forbes and our LB Ms. Black Pearl cow. If you’re not familiar with Pearl’s history in our herd, she is the dam of our many-time champion and herd sire, LB Mr. Black Spade.

Irene is an “in-your-back-pocket” kind of heifer that will make a great project for any junior. She’s the total package, combining a great personality with genetics that will not disappoint. Irene’s best days are ahead of her—make sure you’re the one who owns her when she truly blossoms!

‼️LB Mr. Axl Finds a New Home at MNR Cattle‼️

We love a full-circle moment, and this is the perfect one. Payge Dupre showed LB Mr. Axl for the first time at the Greater Jacksonville Fair in 2018 and has loved him ever since.

This year, we made the decision to retire Axl from our herd due to retaining so many of his daughters. We knew we would only let him go to the right person. After a quick conversation, Axl was headed to Lakeland to continue his breeding career with Payge and Madi’s elite Brangus and UltraBlack herd.

You would be hard-pressed to find a Brangus bull at Axl’s age that still looks like he could step into the show ring. A true calving-ease herd sire that boasts a perfect disposition, this one was hard to let go.

We are so excited for Madi and Payge as they continue Axl’s legacy!

LB Mr. Obsidian

You will often catch us talking about cow power and the strength of a good cow family, and we think this is the perfect example of that. “Sid” is out of the many time champion, and family favorite, LB Ms. Opal 1252J1 and sired by our calving ease herd sire, MC Linden 804J3. Sid’s genetics boast breed favorite names such as One Source, Monument, Night Train and Legacy. We think Obsidian is going to be one of those rare calving ease bulls that won’t miss.

Introducing LB Mr. Bossman

We’re super excited to add this powerful MC Linden 804J3 son to our herd sire line up this upcoming breeding season! This bull checks a lot of our boxes when we’re selecting a herd sire. If you like Bossman, there is more where he came from! We are feeding out the next set of breeding bulls NOW! They will primarily be sired just like this bull, by MC Linden 804J3.

We will be making a post by the beginning of November to let you guys know that the bulls are ready for your herds. We have been selling out quickly and these bulls won’t last long! Make sure you contact Emily at 352-598-3338 if you’re interested in a bull this breeding season!
