All three of our female cria from this year ended up joining our herd. Unfortunately we lost Bright eyes unexpectedly to choke when Carnation was 6 months old. Even though they don't fit with our breeding plans Carnation white) and Moon (2018 cria, fawn) will both be staying with the herd at this time to carry on their mother's legacy. Carnation is extremely curious and friendly much like her mom.
Sassy is a bay black cria from Elvira (black). She is sassy to her herd mates and likes to think she is in charge. Her doting mother let's her believe it.
Sammy is a bay black cria from Silver (silver/black). Sammy is curious about her world to the extreme! She has already twice gotten into situations that could have cost her dearly. The first she explored a wood pile and ended up stuck between it and the fence. The second time she found some thin wire and managed to wrap it around three legs and her neck. Due to her extra handling she is not quite as people shy as Sassy.
Sassy and Sammy are nearly identical in looks and share the same sire. We will be investing in a microchip reader and chips as soon as possible.
Hopeful cria for 2021 include Moon's first, Geline's first for us (although she's had cria at her previous home), and Elvira's second in the summer. Silver refused to breed for a summer breeding and is due in late fall. We were going to leave her open but Rhodium (our stud) and Silver had other ideas.
