Want to know more about A & R Organics? And the WHY? A very long read but it’ll help you understand me some ❤️
It started when I turned 35 and got extremely sick. Multiple intestinal infections one after another. Diverticulitis flare ups constantly, gluten allergy, Chron’s disease, and 5 stomach surgeries later to remove intestines. Happy Birthday to me right? lol learning to live with all of this during the that time was a nightmare. Drs told me I was “too young” for diverticulitis, I had it on the right side instead of commonly known left side so I was just a young person looking for pain meds. When I would go to the hospital I was told “impossible” and I was lying when I told them I knew what was wrong. My own dr at the time called me a liar to my face and said I was exaggerating. I went to a major hospital in Mass looking for help because I couldn’t get it here. I was begging to just take my intestines out. Once again, nothing. The dr didn’t even lift my shirt to do an exam on my stomach! Let alone even have me sit on an exam table. Those years were spent in tears and depression. I missed events for my kids and family because I was so sick. I had never missed anything ever for them. Then one day I was coaching lacrosse on on my knees and mentioned to one of the moms I needed a GI that would listen. She told me to call her husband. I knew he was a dr I just didn’t know what kind. Low and behold I go see him and he does all the exams in depth like they should’ve done from the start and while I’m in recovery he comes out and tells my husband I have the worst intestines he’s ever seen. I’m then scheduled for another surgery. They remove the worst parts and I wake up asking if I am now having to use a bag. (It was discussed as a likely possibility) Luckily the answer was no. I was good for a few years but slowly things kept creeping back up. Even with all the diet changes. I have learned that if I 100% keep gluten out of my diet and cross contaminate I will land myself in the hospital. It’s better to deal with some pain everyday than be deathly ill. I just know I cannot push any limits. Then multiple car accidents (not one my fault or me driving except for when my girls were little and a lady ran a stop sign and T b***d us) I’ve lost my hearing in my left ear, my back and neck is permanently damaged and my hips are a mess. I’m thinking to myself what can I do to feel better? I see osteopathic drs now instead of standard write a prescription and send me on my way. Then comes my fall resulting in my brain injury. I then get diagnosed with a neurological disorder that sometimes mimics MS, epilepsy, stroke, and more. I also had to relearn to talk. 2 years of speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling and so on and getting fired from my job. 3 years no income, my husband doing doing everything he can to save anything we could. My mom coming over everyday to “babysit” I couldn’t cook anymore, I couldn’t be alone because I was falling constantly. We rescued a rotti that was abused and had been abandoned who ended up becoming my unofficial service dog, he knew when I would have a seizure, he never left my side. He helped save me from myself. I would wake up on the floor and his paws would be on me. I knew we needed each other. And he taught my other dogs what to do for me too! Then he got diagnosed with bone cancer after a year of him with me. We tried our best to save him. Even a gofundme to help pay for his amputation but a few months after his surgery he started showing signs of cancer in his lungs. We couldn’t save my boy and it wrecked me. Still does. But while trying to save him and trying to learn how to cook again we decided homemade food for the dogs was the way to go. We knew from what I had gone through before, my brain injury I needed to eat clean and obviously my fur babies did too. No more chemicals!!!! So we started cooking for the dogs, it was and still is tough, I still burn their food at times but knowing what they are getting in their body and what we are putting in ours gives a little more peace of mind. And I needed something. We really started pushing the garden again, fresh grown, no pesticides, I know what we are getting! I had my chickens to talk to along with the dogs to help work on my speech. It’s crazy, they don’t care if you stutter, they don’t care if you slur your words, they love when you just sit there on a bad day and try to talk to them!! All of my therapy helps my insides and my brain. During all of this I also noticed that the chemicals in store bought “stuff” was affecting me, my hair was falling out, my skin was a rash here, a rash there, hives, and so on. So I said I needed to look into what I was putting ON my body. That’s what started the all natural soaps. I hate coloring it because I don’t want anything artificial in it at all so colors are only limited to clean minerals and I don’t use them much because the color isn’t needed to make it great! I don’t want the prettiest, I want the healthiest. And to help fund my need to be healthy and to help others feel better I decided to start sharing what I’ve been working on. I don’t claim to be the best, or perfect but I want to be better, inside and out; and share that with you too! I won’t lie to you and say I’m cured from it all because I’m far from it, but I have come sooo, soooo far!
That is the why! I am sorry for the long post but I wanted to share my crazy with you all ❤️
