I have lots of ducks. Big ducks, medium ducks, smol ducks. Ducks who are jerks, ducks who just hate me, and ducks who break my heart. With lots of ducks comes lots of eggs. Everyone who can eat eggs should eat duck eggs.

This is the time of year where I end up with quite the inventory of duck eggs, with a demand that is far behind that of chicken eggs. With the unrelenting heat, I’m working hard to keep the ladies comfortable. Some of my ducks have now started molting, which brings their 2024 laying season to an end. This is the earliest I’ve ever seen in over 10 years. The visual quality of the egg is also at risk, the key is understanding there is a good range of what a completely delicious egg can look like.
