Dry Creek Mini Ranch Home to "Noah's Ark" of animals. No longer raising all the mini critters. Done with horses/donkeys. Beefmaster cross cattle. Kiko/Boer goats. Sale or trade.

Great Pyrenees/Anatolians along with Toy/Mini Aussies/Doodles, Toy Poodles, Shihtzus, Yorkipoos. Dry Creek Mini Ranch is a working mini ranch with 35 acres of rolling hills, "dry" creeks, pastures, trees, and 5 ponds (two are stocked with koi and fresh catfish). Our cattle herd started with Zebu and expanded to include Shorthorns, Longhorns, and Scottish Highlanders which we are cross breeding to

get our own unique brand. While all our cattle are special, our pride and joy is Savannah - a sweet natured 34" Zebu cow that would rather sleep on the front porch than be out in the pasture with the other cattle. To tell you the truth I'm not sure she knows she is a cow. The Pygmy goats are very entertaining with the kids bouncing, running, jumping and mehing.

I just learned something I never knew about Ronald Reagan, and as a fellow goat lover, I thought it was too fun not to share.

Before he became Governor of California and later President of the United States, Ronald Reagan kept Nubian goats on his ranch in California. Newspapers even ran stories about his goats giving birth to multiple sets of quadruplets at the same time, which was pretty unusual. There are photos of him sitting in the barn surrounded by baby goats, bottle-feeding kids, and looking just as proud as any goat owner today.

What I found interesting is that Reagan wasn’t just posing for pictures. He genuinely enjoyed ranch life and raising livestock. Long before politics, he spent much of his free time working around his ranch and caring for animals.

Looking at this photo, it’s funny to realize that one of America’s presidents was sitting in the straw surrounded by baby goats just like so many of us do today. Some things never change. Goat kids were stealing hearts back then just like they are now.

As a goat owner, I love finding little pieces of history like this. No matter your political views, it’s pretty neat to see that one of the most recognizable figures in American history was once excitedly showing off baby goats and dealing with the same kind of barnyard chaos the rest of us know all too well. 🐐❤️

Did anyone else know Reagan raised goats, or is this a new one for you too?

Just thought I’d share because I learned something new today, and maybe some of you did too. 🐐❤️

Copied.
