Unbroken Chain – Pale Ale | 5.3% ABV

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile—this one’s special.

Unbroken Chain marks the first official beer release from our new Head Brewer here at Magnolia Brewing Company, and it sets the tone beautifully. Brewed with all Italian Pilsner malt and hopped with Cascade, Nectaron, and Superdelic, this Pale Ale drinks light in body but carries a vibrant hop punch. Expect bright notes of berry and lemon rind, balanced by a soft malt backbone and a mild, clean bitterness that keeps you coming back for the next link.

Our new Head Brewer Jesse Stubbs hails from New Mexico but has called the Bay Area home for over a decade. His journey includes time at Marin Brewing Company and Moylan’s Brewery, learning under the legendary Arne Johnson. Jesse brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for his craft and this beer is just the beginning of that unbroken chain.

Today we say so long (for now) to our good friend and Head Brewer at Magnolia Brewing Company, Jon Taylor 🍻

Jon’s Magnolia story started over a decade ago in the kitchen as a line cook, before he found his way into the brewery, working his way up from Assistant Brewer to eventually taking his shot as Head Brewer back home in Colorado Springs. When he later returned to the Bay Area during Magnolia’s ownership transition and we were searching for a Head Brewer, Jon didn’t hesitate. Brian got the call, and Jon said, “Put me in, coach.”

And that’s exactly what we did.

Since then, Jon has been instrumental in bringing the iconic Magnolia Brew Pub back to its glory—reviving beloved classics like Proving Ground IPA and Kalifornia Kölsch, while also creating new recipes that pushed us forward.

For all of this and more, Jon, thank you. You’ll always be a part of the Magnolia family, and we can’t wait to see what you do next. ❤️🍺
