Ballygrennan means “Place of the Sun.” ☀️
“Bally” comes from the Gaelic word baile, meaning “place” or “home,” and “Grennan” is connected to the sun, warmth, and light. Mike grew up at Ballygrennan in County Kerry, Ireland, and carrying the name forward felt deeply meaningful as we created this farm and community in Vacaville.
To us, the sun symbolizes life, nourishment, renewal, and the energy that helps all living things grow.
Ballygrennan Farm was created with a vision much bigger than farming alone — a place for gathering, healing, learning, fresh food, and reconnecting to nature and community. Through both Ballygrennan Farm and McGuire Grounded, I love helping connect people to local farms, makers, events, businesses, and each other.
