Our little egg head decided to join us earth side a few weeks early. 💛

We are both well and getting settled at home. We even did our first honey stand egg fridge restock together since being home! 🥚

I’m sure by now you’ve all seen in the news the continuation of problems in the commercial food industry. First the explosive diarrhea lettuce, and now the salmonella eggs! 🤢

Fret not locals, I have just restocked our egg fridge at the G.W. & Son Honey Farms LLC self-serve honey stand with fresh, salmonella free eggs! Conveniently open 24/7, located at 4837 Mt. Zion Road, Valdosta, Ga. Cash and electronic payments are accepted by both businesses, so stop by and get some fresh eggs and raw local honey! 🤝🥚🍯

Keep in mind our fresh eggs are good in the fridge for about 2 months (not that they would last you that long 😉), so it might be a good idea to stock up before the eggs are gone from the grocery store shelves or the prices go up. We will NOT be inflating our egg prices during this time, $5 per dozen $7 per 18 pack. 🫶

It’s times like these that serve as lil reminders that more often than not, the food that is BEST for you is the food that has traveled the least amount of distance to get to your plate. BUY LOCAL FOLKS! 🗣️🎙️

Yesterday we were honored to be guest speakers at the Rooted Futures Ag Day Even hosted by our friends Wallace Family Homestead . 🐮🐓🐇👨‍🌾🌱

We shared about what we do on our homestead so that others could be informed, encouraged, and inspired to start their own journey. These events are incredibly important, not only for educational purposes, but to help build and support the agricultural community. To get people back in touch to where food comes from, connect with the soil and animals, and each other. We look forward to attending this event for years to follow! 🌾

Special shoutout to my sweet friend Shelby at Southern Spreadables for making our treats this past weekend! 🍰 A delicious tres leche for my birthday that was Sunday (with a custom fruit layer inside 🤤) and peach tarts for D as a surprise treat for his 1st Father’s Day. 🥹

Last weekend I used our abundance of basil from the herb garden to make this fresh basil pesto shrimp pasta for dinner. 🤤

Here’s the kicker, instead of pine nuts, I used South Georgia pecans! I had some tucked away in the freezer and didn’t want to go to the store and get pine nuts. It was just as good and I didn’t even notice a difference! 🍝

I made a double batch of the pesto to freeze so we can enjoy these fresh garden flavors when they are out of season. Meal prep made easy. 👌
