⭐GOLDEN BEAR’S 30 YEARS⭐

We teamed up with Cal Poly Maritime to create a commemorative label for the farewell reception aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear. After 30 years of training maritime students on the open waters around the world, The Golden Bear is retiring in style with the Golden Bear Ale to celebrate her service. For the special occasion, we enlisted our Saginaw Golden Ale to wear this commemorative label proud as many past and present cadets and faculty send her off for one last time.
We will have a very limited amount of these cans available at our Coal Shed Brewery and Ferry Taproom locations starting this Saturday. Fair winds and following seas, Training Ship Golden Bear. Your watch has ended.

Mare Island has been a place where people build what they can’t buy since 1854. Our co-founder Ryan Gibbons has been keeping that tradition going, one layer at a time.

Five years ago, Ryan got his first 3D printer. Today three of them run daily at the brewery, turning out tap handles, custom fixtures, merch, and even specialized parts to keep our canning line humming.

Steins down, Yardbirds 🍺

What a way to kick off fall. The Coal Shed waterfront was packed with the Yardbird fam, lederhosen, dirndls, and exactly one animatronic turkey hat (you know who you are).

Raising a glass to everyone who made it out, our stein-holding and co****le champs, and of course Chef Jason for that glorious Bavarian spread.

Savor that fall b**r release, Yardbirds. It’s gotta last you ‘til winter.

Celebrate art while supporting mental health and wellness for first responders.

This Saturday, we're stoked to host the Outlet Art Collective at our Coal Shed Brewery. Come out for a good time in support of a great cause!

The gallery is hosted by First Responders Outlet, a nonprofit founded by firefighters from the Richmond Fire Department. Their mission is to support first responders’ mental health through artwork.
