The dust has settled and the heifers are all safely back in their respected areas, so let’s give a recap of the WV Dairy Cattle Show.

We took eight heifers, two of which were leased to a FFA member: two Holsteins, one Ayrshire, and five Jerseys. We were blessed to be named the Premier Jersey Breeder.

The AJCA appraiser stopped for a visit this morning and left us with excellent results.

After today’s appraisal the current herd of Jerseys consists of 6 Excellent and 10 VG cows. The averagege score is 87.56.
These pretty ladies average 75.5 pounds of milk with 5.36 butterfat andd 3.42 protein.

Fifty years ago Rick and Lynnette purchased their first cow. This is the last cow that Rick bred. The “H” family of Holsteins at Rich-Lynn Farm is making him proud. She was All WV as heifer and has produced an All WV daughter. She continues to excel with production. She is recently fresh in her second lactation. On her first test she had 146 pounds of milk!
Hope has given us three heifers so far; Harmony, Halo, and Heart.
