George Dickel has never previously released their Tennessee rye wh***ey on its own, their wheat wh***ey, or their light wh***ey!

🔥 RYE: Previously released only as part of a collaboration with Colorado-based Leopold Bros., this is the first standalone release of George Dickel’s Tennessee-distilled rye. Made from 84% rye, 8% corn, and 8% malt and aged for seven years in a new oak barrel, it is a bold hot-climate Southern rye shaped by Tennessee’s heat, with full oak, rich mint, chocolate, and rye spice notes.

🌾 WHEAT: Made from 100% wheat and aged for seven years in a new oak barrel, this previously unreleased style is for wheated bourbon lovers. Deep baking spice, tropical fruit, and warm oak meet delicate floral notes and a remarkable softness on the palate.

💡LIGHT: Our first light wh***ey is another previously unreleased style from George Dickel. Made from 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malt and aged for eight years in a used oak barrel, this rare single cask invites exploration of an overlooked wh***ey category. Delicate and nuanced, it has a lighter body and mouthfeel than bourbon while offering plenty of complexity.

Meet the Tennessee wh***ey single casks of the George Dickel Collection!

What makes it Tennessee wh***ey?

➡️ Tennessee wh***ey is also bourbon, so it must be made from at least 51% corn, distilled to no higher than 160 proof, go into the barrel at no higher than 125 proof, be bottled at 80 proof or higher, and be aged in new, charred oak barrels.

➡️ While bourbon can be made anywhere in the U.S., Tennessee wh***ey must be made in Tennessee!

➡️ Finally, Tennessee wh***ey must go through a charcoal-filtering step before aging, which is called the Lincoln County Process.

SINGLE DISTILLERY BLEND SERIES 🥃
Larger than a single cask release but smaller than a multi-distillery blend, we collaborate with our distillery partners to create small blends of unique whiskies unlike anything they release on their own. These whiskies showcase a new side of some of the country’s most beloved distilleries!

🌳 Fabled Forest George Dickel Tennessee Wh***ey
A fresh look at George Dickel’s flagship style, rarely released at cask strength. Fabled Forest blends seven casks of Tennessee wh***ey, all charcoal-mellowed using the Lincoln County process and aged between 11 and 18 years. Roughly a quarter of the blend is 18 years old, adding depth to a wh***ey that is rich and complex, yet mellow and balanced. This is George Dickel blended specifically for the bourbon nerd.

🌲 Wild Woodland George Dickel Straight Tennessee Rye Wh***ey
Wild Woodland offers the first-ever taste of George Dickel’s Tennessee-distilled rye as a standalone release. A marriage of five casks aged for seven years, it is bold, deep, and powerful. It reflects the hot, humid climate of Middle Tennessee, with notes of mint, dark chocolate, oak, and generous rye spice.

🍂 Golden Grove George Dickel Straight Tennessee Wheat Wh***ey
Golden Grove brings together six casks of George Dickel’s never-before-released wheat wh***ey. Made from 100% wheat and aged between four and eight years, this warm, expressive wheat wh***ey has rich notes of nutmeg, chocolate banana bread, strawberries, and warm oak, with a remarkable softness on the palate. Wheated bourbon lovers – this one’s for you.

The George Dickel Collection is our first-ever collection focused on one single distillery!

Founded in 1878 and rebuilt in the 1950s, the Tullahoma, Tennessee-based distillery has reached new heights under distiller Nicole Austin. We worked closely with Nicole to select specific whiskies that let us showcase a unique side of this heritage distillery.

These are styles George Dickel has produced for years but rarely, if ever, released: 18-year-old Tennessee wh***ey, wheat wh***ey, light wh***ey, bourbon that has not undergone charcoal filtration (and is therefore, NOT Tennessee wh***ey!), and Tennessee-distilled rye.

This collection promises to give wh***ey lovers a chance to explore a hidden side of one of America’s most historic distilleries. If you think you already know George Dickel, this release is for you!

🚀 Launching Wednesday, October 21st via our online shop, Seelbachs.com, at select retailers in CA, NY, MA, and IL, and at the Lost Lantern Tasting Room in Vergennes, Vermont!

While there is no universal official definition for a heritage distillery, at Lost Lantern we have some specific criteria!

For us, a heritage distillery needs to be based in Kentucky, Tennessee, or (arguably) Indiana.

It needs to be old enough and large enough to have been a major part of the wh***ey world for decades.

The truth is, there are only a dozen or so heritage distilleries in the country!

It is a rarefied group with outsize importance 🥃
