Anyone want to guess what the new breed I’m *trying* to add is? Since my mom takes care of one of my breeding pens, I let her pick the new variety. I will give you a hint- they are NOT the welsummers I’ve been going for, and they don’t lay a pretty colored egg🤗

Is this not the COOLEST Canada goose you have ever seen?
I am so very blessed to know the people that I do. Throughout my bachelors and masters schooling, previous work experience, and networking I have done- I have met some pretty cool cats out there!😎

Today I was able to go out with some of our state and federal wildlife biologist to capture and band Canada geese. During this- they will age, s*x, and permanently band each individual bird. This not only provides valuable data about our migratory birds, but also helps biologist understand local populations.
Again, I am so lucky to be friends with these people💯

*This was all done with proper permitting and safety for the individuals and geese involved*

🌸Just thought it’d be fun to share what the outside of my packages typically look like. Sometimes they vary a bit depending on the carrier, but this is them 95% of the time. I try to make it obvious that it’s fragile, but not necessarily eggs (sometimes I think they intentionally practice jujitsu on egg packages🫣😂). I love a clean look, but also a little color and making it look “stand out” and tidy.

Maybe custom boxes down the road, but for now- custom stickers & stamps!

Good morning everyone! After a lot of though- I will be rehoming my entire leg bar flock. I have other breeds I’m adding and just haven’t fallen in love with these guys like I pictured when I started this flock. I have already sold off a few- so this is what I have left if anyone is looking for a starter flock:

(1) 1 year old opal rooster (tested O/O)
(1) one opal pullet (almost POL, tested O/O), no crest
(1) 1 year old opal hen (tested O/O)
SOLD (2) 1 year old cream legbar hens
(1) one week old opal pullet

Also have (1) 3 week old opal cockerel you can just have for free.

$25/ea for the creams and $35/ea for the opal females. We can chat about the rooster if someone is wanting him separate.

Most of these hens are 2.5 years old now and have faded. They are still excellent layers and throw beautiful chicks. They have lost pigment, but still have the genetics to make some excellent Marans.
