The time is coming fast, our current batch of feeder pigs will be going to butcher on June 24th. We only have (3) left so if you’ve been considering purchasing one, don’t hesitate as they usually sell fast in the last 3-4 weeks before butcher time. Well we said to watch for pics on our new “Bacon Seeds”, well we got things ready the day before she had them !! We awoke to 9 new piglets this morning. Mom is doing well, one of the piglets was struggling a bit this morning, it got a little too far from the rest and was pretty cold, doing much better tonight. Looks like they look more like Mom, tan, but some seem to have some of Dad’s black spots. The fun begins !! The one pic is Mom going in for the night, the new Mom the next morning.

Our first group of pigs was definitely a lot to learn and a lot of work. It was definitely worth it and very satisfying. Noah and I would like to thank everyone that bought pigs from us in making our business a big success ! Muffin, the sow we inseminated is due any day now. Noah and I have been scrambling to get the “Nursery” set up. We created a safety zone so Muffin can’t accidentally lay on the little ones when they’re under the heat lamps, but can still get to Momma when feeding time arrives. We’re starting a list for anyone wanting a pig for a mid to late June butcher date. Stay tuned for the up coming pics of our new “Bacon Seeds”. Our first group was 100% Tamworths. We spoke with some butchers, and our next group is going to be 50% Tamworths and 50% Berkshires. The characteristics of the two combined should make for some awesome feeder hogs. Lots of anticipation to see how they look, all brown like Momma, black and white like their stud Dad ? We’ll see shortly. Thanks again to everyone, with out you we never could have made it happen.

Pigs are growing fast and happy as can be ! Only 4 left for early November butchering. Noah and I picked up a quality scale today for a really good deal. No guesstimates on these hogs ! Give us a call to reserve your November hog !

Well today the Bacon Seeds got “Planted” in their new home. Wanda the blonde sow and Muffin the brunette both have good temperaments, have been good Moms, and all seemed to like their new surroundings. We were able to get all the piglets ear tagged, which went better than i thought it would. I was amazed how quickly they started rutting away in the new ground and adapted to the new feeder style pretty quickly. Come on out and pick your growing Bacon seed !!
