Sorry it's been a while since we've posted. We've been busy.

This evening, we dined at Pungo Pizza & Ice Cream. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from the staff and were promptly seated. Our server, Norah, provided outstanding service with a smile. She checked on us regularly and kept our drinks full.
Our meals came out in a timely manner and were excellent! We finished up with a few delicious ice cream cones.
We wish Pungo Pizza and Ice Cream were closer to us; we would definitely visit more often!

Last Saturday night we had dinner at Coinjock Marina Restaurant, 321 Waterlily Road, Coinjock, North Carolina.

The Marina Restaurant is located along the Intercoastal Waterway. The nautical themed atmosphere of the restaurant was complemented by several luxury yachts moored to the dock just outside.

The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived. I went inside to see how long of a wait there was for a table. I was met by their friendly hostess Jasmine. She apologized for a longer than normal wait time and asked if we were willing to wait approximately 30 minutes for a table. I agreed, she took down my phone number and said she would call as soon as they had our table ready. We retreated to parking lot to wait. Within about 15 minutes I got a call saying that our table was ready. When we returned to the restaurant where we were again welcomed by Jasmine who again apologized for the wait. She showed us to our table and hoped we enjoyed our dinner.
Without delay we were welcomed by our sever Haley. We ordered drinks from their very unique cocktail menu. I (Billy) ordered the House Special “A pi**ed off captain with a broken rudder” a blend of gin, vodka, triple sec Chamdord and Madori with splashes of sours and sprite. Allison got a “Coinjock Cosmo”.
Kaiden ordered a Shirley Temple, and Ethan went with his usual chocolate milk. We got the crab dip appetizer as recommended by Haley. The crab dip was a generous portion for an appetizer.

To be continued

Dirty Buffalo (Grassfield)

We went to dirty Buffalo for the first time and yum. We all left very full.
We enjoyed our meal. Ella, our server, was very attentive. They had a lot of staff. She was training another server. Our drinks stayed full and our order was correct.
Price was great for the amount of food you get. We paid around $53ish with two appetizers and 4 meals…2 were kids meals and drinks.

Side note they are closed on Monday and Tuesday…

We started with Cali wings per servers recommendation. It is cauliflower covered in any kind of wing sauce you like. We choose Korean BBQ sauce. They were ok but just not really our thing. It was edible but we were not overly impressed. We also got Ragin’ Curds They were amazing and will be on our repeat order for sure.(pictures of apps were after we loaded our plates…we couldn’t wait lol)

The kids meals had nice portions and both kids enjoys. One got a cheeseburger and Mac and cheese the other got chicken tenders and applesauce.
Billy and I got the Dirty plates. I got dirty chick… chicken tenders tossed in whatever flavor you choose over Mac and cheese and What they call home fries.. It was an interesting combo. I enjoyed but could only eat about 50% because it was a lot. Billy got dirty burger-dog. It was the home fries covered in macaroni salad and a burger and dog. All topped with dirty sauce which is like a slightly spicy chili. They were heaping portions. He also could only finish about 1/2.

We look forward to coming back and trying their boneless wings.
The restaurant was really clean. There was a lot of space in between tables. Even though there was a lot of staff, they did not overwhelm us or interrupt us in anyway. We enjoyed our visit and will definately be back in the future.

Tonight we randomly went on a Roadtrip and ate at Mama Kwans in Nags Head.
First off… our server was awesome! She wasn’t too in your face but made sure we didn’t want for anything. Her name was Isabella. Go there and ask for her!!
The kids ordered from their many selections off the kids colorable menu. They both choose popcorn shrimp and fries and it was a lot of food. They were perfectly lightly breaded cooked with a nice crispy outside. The fries were great also. Our kids dogged their food.

I ordered coconut shrimp.. comes with fried green beans and butter rum rice with fried pineapple on top and a honey jerk dipping sauce. The coconut shrimp were great! Breaded in fresh coconut… yum!!!! It was more then I could eat by myself but my husband and kids were glad to help me out!

Hubby ordered Garbage Plate with Tuna medium and blackened seasoning. Served over sautéed veggies fresh field greens and Asian cucumber salad. Comes with teriyaki sauce and a mound of jasmin rice.
He mound in Pleasure while consuming what he said was one of the best meals he has had in a while. Needless to say we will be returning.
Hubby got a Hawaiian Iced coffee which he enjoy a free refill of and I got Kwan-Dree (pineapple, ginger ale, grenadine, and a cheery) yummmm
Plus the kids and I got to keep our cups!
The prices were pretty average and I would say we got our monies worth.
No complaints about food or service.
Atmosphere was a bar and grill. Suitable for our family.
We rate it a 9

Tonight we went to Zino’s for a quick dinner. We got a Large Zino’s Special. It was really good! As you can see from the picture we couldn’t wait to eat we were all hungry. Shout out to John, the chef, for the amazing crust. Our server Linda was great! Over all it was a pleasant experience!
We give tonight’s dinner a 8

Lunch was at The Arbor today. I got the chicken salad cold plate and my hubby got the Gus Sub (with Cheetos) and Cajun fries. Heather was our server and she did a great job. The cook was new but issues and time management for food prep was minor. We enjoyed our lunch and left full.
If you like spicy the fries are great!

We rate it a 7 and will return in the future.

Tonight we went to Bubba’s 33

We have been there a lot and never had a negative experience until tonight.

Our server Steph was polite and efficient. She got our order correct and keep our drinks full. She even addressed an issue we had to the best of her ability as a server to resolve the issue. (More about that in a few)

The twins ordered kids meals pizza and Mac and cheese. They both enjoyed their meals. The TV’s on all the walls easily distract them but that is just this restaurants environment.
Several TV’s on every wall usually with music videos, AFV and sports. Something for everyone to watch.

Hubby ordered chicken bacon Mac and cheese that comes with garlic bread and he added a side salad. It was exactly as the menu explained it to be and tasted good but it wasn’t quite an adult size portion in our opinion. Only 3 pieces of chicken. He left hungry even after the additional salad. He probably won’t order it again because of the size.

I ordered southern fried chicken with garlic mashed potato’s (I ordered the gravy on the side) and a side salad. When my food arrived I immediately saw something suspect in my gravy. I removed it and put it on another plate then found another .... so 2 total random items. When the server came back I explained I found something in the gravy. She immediately removed the gravy and the plate with the unknown objects on it and offered to bring me more gravy. She returned shortly with the gravy. Then a few minutes later the manager came around and asked how things were going. He said “I heard you found a bonus in your gravy” He informed me that the unknown items in my gravy were french fries. Note we did not have any fries at our table. He explained to us that the fries are right next to where they keep the gravy and the cheese sauce. He said it frequently happens when they are busy. There was no apology offered just acted like this is a normal thing and we should be OK with it. I clearly am not OK with that. So I did not eat the additional gravy that was brought out because I don’t know what else has been dropped in it. Why would a restaurant ever think that it is OK for food to be dropped into other food. I understand it’s a french fry. I also understand that I like french fries but then he explained that at the end of the night they find all kinds of stuff in their gravy and their cheese sauce. Ummmm no!!!! Gross!!! Southern Fried chicken has always been my “go to” meal at Bubba’s. It will no longer be. It will probably be a long time before we go back there. I am very unhappy with the fact that you would serve something knowing that you drop other food into it all the time. That tells me that you should have a cover over the gravy and the cheese sauce.

Overall this experience was jacked up by the manger and his handling of the situation as well as the mishandling of the food in the kitchen.

So if you like mystery food that has been in the gravy for I don’t know how long... go to Bubba’s 33 or if you don’t then you should probably stay away or just order a burger....

We were really impressed with how they handled the pandemic and our previous experiences there but for this trip

We rate it a 4

This morning we went to Zino’s
All you can eat breakfast $6.99
also ordered French toast for the kids to share.

Our waitress Linda was very nice and got our order right. She also gave the kids something to occupy them while they waited.
The food was good but nothing special. The French toast comes with A lot so it was more then enough for them to share and still have two pieces left over. It was worth the money.

The menu was paper printed in a plastic cover which is fine but if that is all it is you would think when you change the prices then you should print new ones. Also you have a sign on your door and table stated you are short staffed and the paper on the table had food on it. Gross.
Also salt and pepper shakers are taped on the bottom and dirty.

Overall the meal was ok
We give them a 5
Lots can be improved
It was decent food for the cost

Tonight’s dinner was Friday Night Lightz

The atmosphere is basically a hometown bar and Grill with local high school jerseys and such on the walls. We immediately felt welcome and comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised when we were given actual menus and didn’t have to look it up on our phones. Thank God for not having to deal with more pandemic menus.

They had a DJ Valante in the house and he was awesome. He played all genres of music. He interacted with a handful of people that were in the place at the time. I felt like he did a great job and we really enjoyed listening to him. He also offered karaoke. He definitely made our dinner more pleasant.

Our server was Sarah D and she greeted us a little slow but after that the service was amazing. She made sure that all of our drinks were always full and table was always clean. We always have our children order their own food and she was very patient and pleasant with them. We give Sarah about a 7.

For an appetizer we ordered pretzel bites with beer cheese. Everyone that goes there should be mandatory to order this appetizer. It was great. The pretzels were not too salty and they were soft. The beer cheese was very smooth and did not have a bitter taste like a lot of beer cheeses do. We give the pretzel bites with beer cheese a 9. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed them. I think there was about 12 of them so we all got a good taste!

For dinner we all ordered burgers the kids ordered the kids cheeseburgers. Twin A ordered fries with his fully loaded cheeseburger and Twin B ordered cucumber salad with his cheeseburger with no tomato. Both boys talked about how good the cheeseburger was.
Also that cucumber salad looked so good I ordered some for myself as well. It was really really good. It was a little sweet but not too sweet perfect combination. I highly recommend the cucumber salad as well.

I ordered a whiskey burger which comes with bacon sautéed onions and barbecue sauce I got french fries with that. My burger was cooked well and juicy very flavorful. They even branded the bun with the restaurants initials FNL It was a cool touch also toasted the buns just a little bit which made them taste better

My husband ordered the special of the night the steak burger. He said it was cooked really well and tasted pretty amazing. He got fries which he covered with katsup and it made his night.

We all left full.
Now I would say that this place is a little bit pricey for burgers but the atmosphere and everything makes it worthwhile. We will go back in the future.
We give Friday Night Lightz an 8 of 10

The day before yesterday we went to Celtic Tiger for Lunch!!! YUM!
We got Irish Nachos! Homemade potato chips with beer cheese, mixed cheese, lettuce and chipotle sour cream & salsa. Hubby and Twin A loved it. I didn’t like it but I am not a fan of anything chipotle so there is that fact.
We got soda bread...$3 and comes with whipped butter It was AWESOME!! Almost like a cake Everyone at our table gave it a thumbs up

Kids ordered grilled cheese and chicken fingers. They were good. Kids liked them

I ordered Cornbeef and Cabbage! It was great! Cornbeef was tender and juicy. Cabbage was not hard but not mush so just right! I also got spicy mustard on the side because I can only take it in doses but it was tasty and flavorful. It came with mashers (flavored mash potatoes basically) they were great too! Perfect meal.

Hubby ordered and Irish breakfast. It came with toasted soda bread. Hash browns mushrooms bacon sausages and fried eggs. He ate it so fast and keep staring that it was so good! It was the right balance of food combinations and cooked to perfection. Sausage had a bit of a snap when you bite it!
None of us left hungry!

The atmosphere is what you would consider a typical Irish pub. Other than it being a little hot in there it was very pleasant and clean. The staff was very nice and attentive.

Also I got 2 of the blueberry lemonades (adult beverage) and they were SO GOOD!
We will definitely be returning to this Resturaunt!!
We give it a 8 out of 10
