LOCAL FRIENDS: Come join me for ❤️FREE❤️ beginner quilting classes starting next month. We will make a wall hanging as a project. If there’s enough participation, we will meet on the first Monday evening 6-7:00 of the month. Registration deadline is January 25. Register in the comments below.

Materials needed: scissors or rotary cutter and mat, sewing machine and fabric (material list and pattern will be shared with participants). If you don’t have a sewing machine, we may be able to find one for you to use!

February class: Reading a cut sheet, cutting fabric and basic block construction for the elements needed.

March class: Assembling pattern- reading a quilt pattern, sew rows together, pressing seams.

April class: How to quilt the top- making a quilt sandwich, simple machine quilting.

May class: Binding and displaying your project.

Well, we knew it was coming at some point. The girls are officially on winter break after a week with NO EGGS. If you see me hanging my head at the grocery store, just remind me that spring will be here soon and we will have more beautiful eggs once again!

We’d like to also offer a huge congratulations to the organizers of the event. It was such a smooth experience from start to finish! The staff and volunteers worked hard to make the experience superior for everyone!

Sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by on day 1 of Kriskindlmarkt! We enjoyed seeing so many of our market friends, and making some new friends too! We’ll be there tomorrow at 10:00, so hurry on over- once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Second batch of rendered lard from our farm pigs! Trying to be good stewards and use as much as we can. Once it cools it will be bright white. It can be used in place of shortening (and it only has one ingredient instead of things I can’t pronounce!). Doesn’t get any more local than this!
