This past weekend was my first (formal) chicken class - and it was so fun! I loved seeing the interest in chickens growing and all the excitement from our new chicken tenders! I can’t wait to hear about their first egg (or any update - some got hens already laying). We hope to do more events and classes through Moa Aloha so stay tuned as we roll out a monthly events soon!

And thank you to UH Leeward Workforce, Vincent Kimura, and Ke Alaula farms (Scotty Wong) for giving me this platform to help bring sustainable farming through chickens to more of our community. We’re creating a welcoming, beginner-friendly space where you can learn the basics of raising healthy, happy chicks — from brooder setup and nutrition to common health issues and what to expect as they grow.

No shame. No gatekeeping. Just real answers, hands-on learning, and supportive community to help you become a confident, ethical chicken tender.
