First, a BIG Thank You! To Dena McDonald with Alossi Renewal Spa and Choose Local & Small Y'all for helping the Wake County Beekeepers Association with marketing for our upcoming Bee Fest at Lonerider Brewery in Wake Forest on June 3rd.

She designed this flyer we will be using to promote the event!

There is still room for a spot in the market if you are a vendor or your interest/civic group is similar and wants to join us. All proceeds from this event go towards an endowment at NCSU in apiculture for more bee research!

Just finishing up checking hives in Raleigh. I am way behind this year. I had to work in the rain today just to try to catch up. Looking forward to having honey ready sometime around the end of May.

Newly published results from work done at UGA regarding oxalic acid treatments for varroa mites. There is also great work occuring at the University of Florida by Dr. Cameron Jack. Much of the research taking place seems to support higher rates of application and that targeting broodless periods are best.

Those of you who keep bees will probably appreciate this more than anyone else.

Went through some storage today and found boxes of frames from last year that I forgot about. That is even better than finding money in a jacket pocket!
