After a freak accident on Saturday Lilo is no longer with me. It has been a very hard year I have lost 3 dogs in the past year. Ulfr will now be working with me full time with Obi filling in once in a while as mr.old mans is missing working. Lilo is now laying next to my Hallie girl. they are both missed so much.

Let's talk about something controversial. This is Lilo, she is not yet fixed as we are waiting for maturity to spay for health reasons. This means she still has heat cycles until her spay appointment. When you are considering a service dog this is one of the things not talked about a lot, male or female? I always personally choose females because I just bond with them better. However that comes at a cost which is how to deal with heat cycles? I have a few options I can
1) Leave her home and use other coping mechanisms or use a back up service dog (namely ulfr)
2) I can limit where I work her based on how she is handling her heat or chances of running into intact males.
3) I can continue to work her wearing a diaper and take extra precautions to keep her clean and sanitary.

It's a lot to consider. My choice will change based on where she is in her heat, who may be around, and how she is feeling through her heat. Is she comfortable? Listening? Capable? For Lilo the answer to all of those today was yes, So Lilo went with us for a quick lunch date and to stop at the bank. Many handlers will opt to leave their in season dog at home and that is valid and okay! A service dog is a tool that can be so beneficial but it shouldn't be your only tool in your tool box to manage your disability. Legally there is no requirement to spay or neuter your service dog and many times people will assume an intact dog is fake. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Just like everything in life this topic is nuanced. If you have questions or want to share your opinion please drop it in the comments. Here is to Lilo my hard work girl!

We are back!
After taking a break to deal with some personal struggles and the loss of Hallie, I am back and taking over the farm and kennel again. Things did not go as expected in my absence and I apologize for anyone who did not get the quality or service I pride myself on. However with every set back comes a chance to come back stronger. With me coming back I am offering 20% off for all new and returning customers on training programs and for every three days of daycare the 4th is free for the next month ❤️🦮🐕. Please stay tuned for upcoming changes and improvements!

👉 Did you know dogs don’t generalize well?

Just because your pup nails “sit” at home 🏡 doesn’t mean they’ll remember it at the park 🌳, the vet 🩺, or during a walk 🐾.

✨ The key? Practice commands in different environments to build true obedience and reliability!

💡 Pro Tip: Start small, then slowly add distractions so your dog learns to focus on you—no matter where you are.

🐕💬 Tell us: Where is the hardest place your dog listens to you? (The park? Around other dogs? At home with distractions?)

📲 Need help taking your dog’s training to the next level? Message us today to start building a dog who listens anywhere!

🐾✨ Fun Fact Friday! ✨🐾

Did you know… 🤔
Dogs were the first animals ever domesticated by humans—over 15,000 years ago! 🏹🐕 Early humans and wolves formed partnerships: the wolves helped with hunting and protection, while humans provided food and shelter.

Fast forward to today… that ancient teamwork is why dogs are still known as our best friends 🐶❤️
