If you've been to Misty Valley Farm, you've certainly noticed the majestic crepe myrtles as you enter the driveway. In the summer, when in bloom, they're a sight to behold. And throughout the rest of the year, the branches drape embracingly over the driveway to welcome you.

Everything has a beginning… and these crepe myrtles have their own story. A friendly neighbor off Creekside Drive, Ms. Dean, kindly shared them with Vivian in 1979. The two ladies dug them up from the Creekside Drive property and Vivian lovingly planted them along the driveway. Almost 40 yrs later and they're now a trademark of the farm.

These photos show where it all began; though these photos are from the early 90s after they had grown a bit! And now, how they stand today.

Misty Valley Farm began in 1978 with the dream of raising their two daughters in a back to basics true farming atmosphere.
While Bobby grew up in the city, Vivian grew up farming her whole life. From a milk cow to her beloved horses. Their first venture at Misty Valley Farm was cattle, which was inspired by Vivian's father in law.

Misty Valley Farm was born of building a legacy which continues today; 48 years later. An art gallery featuring Vivian's art now stands where her riding arena stood years ago. Lush gardens and the driveway lined with crepe myrtles show the work and love that's built this farm. The farm is now home to 3 horses, a mini horse and donkey, 2 goats, chickens and a pig. When you arrive at Misty Valley Farm, you feel like you've entered a magazine with the beauty surrounding the farm… a true legacy built by Vivian and Bobby.

Over the next week, we will be going back to where it started with the story of this beautiful farm. From the crepe myrtles that line the driveway to the riding arena that once stood here.

We hope you join us and please share!
