Every story has a beginning.

Ours starts with Frank and Rose Leonetti. Gary Figgins' maternal grandparents immigrated from Calabria, Italy, and were married in an arranged marriage in Walla Walla in 1906.

Though the Leonetti name was not inherited by the next generation in the traditional sense, its legacy continued. Today, it remains a tribute to the family whose story began here.

Time is one of the most important ingredients in our Aglianico (olly-on-ico).

Over 44 months, it rests in terracotta amphorae alongside new and neutral French oak. The porous clay encourages gentle micro-oxygenation, allowing the wine to evolve slowly and naturally.

Some things are measured in seasons. Others are measured in decades.

This photograph was taken in 1980, with Gary Figgins pruning the Merlot block beside the winery. Nearly fifty years after it was planted in 1976, the work continues much the same way. We return to the same vines with the understanding that no two vintages will ever be identical.

As the oldest vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley, this small block has quietly become one of the defining sources of our Merlot. The Onyx silt loam soils in which it grows are reflected in the delicate texture and distinctive aromas of crushed fresh flowers and petrol.

The vineyard has changed over the years. The commitment to it hasn't.

Lavender has a purpose in the vineyard beyond its beauty. Planted throughout our estate vineyard, it helps attract beneficial insects and pollinators that support a healthy vineyard ecosystem and greater biodiversity. Its drought-tolerant nature also makes it well suited to the dry summers of the Walla Walla Valley.

Bottling week is here.

An immense amount of work has led us here. These grapes were harvested in 2024 and have spent the last two years in barrel in our cellar. Earlier this year, we completed the final blends, and now the big week has arrived. Each bottle reflects another vintage from this special place we call home, shaped by time, patience, and the hands that cared for it.

Serra Pedace Vineyard, named for Frank and Rose Leonetti’s hometown in Calabria, Italy, is a steep, east-facing hillside carved into shallow, rocky soils never touched by farming. Its windy terraces yield wines of exceptional density and power, making it a truly unique site in Walla Walla Valley.
