I’m proud to be a Texas Master Naturalist and a certified 4-H volunteer, and this school year I’m bringing those two passions together at Pazific Ranch: helping young people learn to observe nature, ask better questions, practice stewardship, and discover the careers connected to the land around us.
🌿 2026–2027 Living Laboratory Calendar
🌱 September 12 — Stewardship Day
Roots of Leadership: Observe • Care • Lead
Learning to observe before we act—and understanding how responsible leadership begins with stewardship.
💧 October 17 — Natural Resources Day
Soil • Water • Grass • Cattle
Exploring the systems that support a working ranch and the careers behind animal science, natural resources and land management.
🌳 November 14 — Tree Planting Festival
Plant Today. Study Tomorrow.
Planting for the future while learning how scientists measure tree growth, survival, soil health and ecosystem restoration.
🐟 February 20 — Pond Ecology Workshop
What Does a Healthy Pond Tell Us?
Investigating water quality, fish, aquatic ecosystems and the science behind healthy ponds.
🦋 March 20 — Wildlife Habitat Day
Who Lives Here—and Why?
Observing birds, pollinators and wildlife while exploring biodiversity and habitat conservation.
🔬 May 15 — Youth Research Showcase
From Observation to Discovery
Young people turn what they have observed throughout the year into questions, data, findings and presentations.
Our goal is simple: make the ranch a living laboratory.
Cattle, sheep, ponds, trees, prairie, pollinators and wildlife become opportunities to connect agriculture + science + research + stewardship + future careers.
We look forward to collaborating with 4-H clubs, families, educators, volunteers, researchers and professionals throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
