Sales Horse Showings

Please review our updated availability and scheduling policies for sales horse appointments!

Appointment Availability:

Monday–Friday: 1 PM–5 PM

Saturdays: 1 PM–5 PM (limited availability)

Sundays: No appointments available

Please remember we require a helmet for any test rides being offered, if you do not wear one, you will not be test riding.

Our indoor arena will be unavailable for the remainder of the year as it will be used to house and feed our herd. All appointments must take place during daylight hours.

Weather & Scheduling
All appointments are weather permitting. We do not conduct showings during snowstorms or severe weather. If conditions prevent a safe appointment, we will reschedule accordingly.

We can accommodate scheduling for pickups, transportation, additional veterinary services, and other arrangements with sufficient advance notice. Please contact us to coordinate these details.

Horse Training Updates

I am wrapping up my on-site horse training season for the year. However, I will continue to offer off-site training and lessons!

For travel training & lessons, I will only accept locations that provide suitable facilities for working with horses in inclement weather as soon as we get snow, such as an indoor arena or another appropriate, weather-protected training area. This ensures that training can continue as safely and consistently as possible despite changing weather conditions.

If you are interested in training services or lessons, please reach out for more information and to determine whether your location falls within my service area and meets the necessary facility requirements.

Fall always brings out the imaginary 👻 the wind and wind gusts were a huge factor in this today and sometimes it can be enough to make or break a training session. That's why I took things slow and wanted her to primarily think through a situation either on her own or with guidance/correction. I didn't want a wreck today and made sure she was ready for this (while new and her first time, anything can happen), but I made sure any possible situation could be fixed by me removing the branch at anytime. If she hadn't been taught vocal commands and how to process/think already, we wouldn't be doing this today.

- Notice how she processes vs reacts
- Notice when she does start to react first, how if she has time to process it resolves the situation
- Self regulation is huge in training, she didn't continue getting worked up after being able to process
- Process and self regulation time was fairly quick and she had a fast resolve time of being able to calm herself down and continue on without holding onto any fear driven emotions
- Notice her confidence and comfortability levels rising and lowering dependent on sound, wind, and feel. Overstimulation is easily overlooked when a horse is being trained or worked with. It doesn't take much. But the goal is to build up the tolerance levels over time and continue to add exposure. It's not bad behavior or strictly due to being spooky. Unfamiliar situations will always put a horse on higher alert until they're comfortable or have enough experience with it.

Zumi - W/T & beginning of canter work (premature)

I wanted to get a little updated video being the weather is nice finally. Haven't done much round pen work total, but I wanted to see if we could get into the canter today. I usually wait until the end of 60 days being she's young, but being she's progressing quickly I figured it wouldn't hurt to try today. We got into the canter once for the first time, I continued to try a bit, but felt she wasn't fully ready. The first round took her time to find the balance and the second round, she got annoyed with me encouraging her forward with the reins (mild offer to buck/kick) it was an irritation reaction rather than a reaction to getting into a canter (my bad 🫣) at least it was mild lol.

I've decided being she has someone potentially interested in her already, if she does not sell to this particular lady, Zumi, will be taken off the sales list. I just cannot let her go to someone I don't know for sure is an all around 5 ⭐️ home.

Cinnamon - catching, haltering, & picking up hooves. Not her best, but it is 35mph winds today (already had a tree fall this morning) and the horse pastured next to her randomly spooked over something 🥴
