Hiraeth Acres Parsley (Pants) surprised us all yesterday by delivering two days early! Jess checked her at noon and she showed no signs of impending labor, only for her to arrive home to find Parsley with one beautiful, dry, full bellied DOELING sired by my boy, Channell Homestead Z Jupiter! Yes he finally gave up the goods on a pretty, heavily moonspotted doe! 😍

She is doing a great job as a first time mom! Can't wait to see what Jess chooses to name her! But as she hasn't sorted out her herd name etc with ADGA yet, she will carry the Hiraeth Acres name. :)

Got home from work and let the goats out to forage for a bit. Realized I had to p*e and figured they would be fine for the minute and a half that I would be gone.

This is what I came out to.

Fall breeding udder bump alert!!!

"I'm Just a Baby", Miss Parsley Pants herself, is due in just under 5 weeks!!! I happened to be over at her home, Sassy's Boop Snootin' Hollow, the other day and just had to see how she was looking!

Is there anything cuter than a first freshener early udder bump? Aside from the kids that pop out weeks later that is! 🤣

Very excited for Cori and Rebel's girl to have her first kids, especially out of my 2 year old buck Channell Homestead Z Jupiter! Fingers crossed for an easy delivery and a doeling that can come join the Hiraeth Acres crew!

It's that time of year! Making my preliminary breeding plans for the fall! I may change a couple, bringing a doe or two to an off property buck. But dang it I want does from certain pairings with Rebel and I feel like I should use Channell Homestead RM Lucky as much as I can while he's here to visit! 🤣 It's not often to have his kind of potential on hand!

I also may choose to hold 2-3 of the younger girls over for a year. Vie, Coco and Punky will probably hit weight but having 5 yearling milkers to show would be really hard, not to mention it's double the amount of does I usually have delivering! Just feels like a lot.

In any case, all the seniors, all the yearlings, some larger kids. And no one gets bred until the middle of October. 🤣

Introducing my two very exciting additions to the doe herd! Last fall I bred Gypsy Moon CAS My Thai to Gotta B Kid N Ristretto, but it didn't take. I was hoping to try again this fall but sadly has Ristretto passed away. :( But when Christanie from Channell Homestead needed to thin her yearlings she let me know these two Ristretto daughters were available! And out of 2 gorgeous does!!! 😍 I already loved them and thought about which on to get a kid from next year...

But now they're both mine! 😍😍😍

I'll have to get a nice picture of this gorgeous boy but for now, how lucky am I to have the son of this amazing pair here to visit for this breeding season?!?

With the does I brought home with him... holy cow we are shaping up to see some really wonderful kids next spring!!! Looks like I have to redo my entire breeding plan! 🤣🤣

I can't get nice set up pictures of Mugsy right now because my dominant hand is in a cast (surgery, long story! 🤣) but his breeder, Channell Homestead sent me this picture of his littermate sister! Seeing her its hard not to get excited about potential Mugsy babies next year!!! 😍

Anyone else spend 4 hours working on their breeding plans for this fall only to then add three more goats to the herd and have to redo the whole plan? Just me?

Although, most of my followers are other goat people so I'm betting it's not just me! Put your hand up if it's you!! 🤣

I'll introduce the newcomers when they arrive next week but let's just say I am very excited about the quality of the kids that will be born here next year!

For fun, here's what I *was* planning...

Check it out! My new junior herdsire's dam, BusyBrowsers B Mean Streak, went 13th in a large class of 5 and 6 YO Milkers at ADGA Nationals! 😍 Between this gorgeous girl, the paternal half sisters I seen, and how he is growing into himself, I am getting more and more excited to see what Channell Homestead RR Mean Muggin' brings to the herd with his daughters! 😍
