What a DAY. 🥹🖤

The Black Business Market was made possible by so many people who believed in the vision and showed up to make it happen. Our vendors brought their businesses, our community brought the energy, and our volunteers and collaborators helped bring the whole thing together.

I’m still taking it all in, honestly. Watching people connect, shop, support, laugh, and enjoy themselves reminded me exactly WHY I wanted to create BBM in the first place.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I kept thinking… my pap would be so proud. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who played a part. You helped make this more than an event — you helped create a moment.

The part y’all didn’t see 👀

Before the day began, before the shopping started, before y’all came through and showed OUT… our vendors were already putting in work.

Tables going up. Products getting set. Displays coming together. And just like that, the Black Business Market was ready for y’all. 🖤

A whole lot of work goes into creating a space like this, and we couldn’t do it without the businesses who continue to show up, set up, sell out, and support the vision.

This is what building community looks like behind the scenes. 🖤

And whew… y’all REALLY showed up for them. 😮‍💨

This has been years in the making.

Our family was in business long before I even existed, OVER 50 years ago and it always pulls at my heartstrings when I think about how proud my Pap would be to see Black-owned businesses setting up shop at the business him and my Nana built! To see the community coming together, showing up, supporting one another, and gathering in a place he built.

Through his family and everyone his life touched, his legacy lives on. ❤️

Entrepreneurs are the creatives, the dreamers, the change-makers, the ones brave enough to bet on themselves. For some, entrepreneurship is a way out. For others, it’s a pathway they’re creating for those coming behind them. It may be a hobby, a lifelong dream, or simply something they love to do. Whatever the reason, choosing to build something of your own is always a risk, and that deserves to be celebrated.

Tomorrow, come help us celebrate these businesses, show them some love, and connect with your community at the BBM: Summer Block Party!!
