Hi All,
We've applied and been accepted to be a part of KIVA - it is a crowd funding site that provides interest free loans to startups and entrepreneurs. There are two stages - one is private fundraising and then the rest is public. We are asking if you would please support us in this. We need to have fifteen people support us privately - friends and family, then KIVA opens it to their site and pool of 60,000 plus supporters.
You will be repaid.
We will be using the funds to pay for water to be piped down to the barns and fields and to get additional heaters for this winter and additional nesting boxes.
My wife asked me today if this is what I really wanted to do, this is after having come in soaking wet, 53 degrees outside, having hand carried two 50lb bags of feed 350+ feet to the barn and getting soaked while filling up the waterers.
My answer was and is yes.
The minimum donation is 25 dollars, but what matters is that we get fifteen people in fifteen days to support us to get us to the second stage of support. Joyful Harvest has already been endorsed by another agency.

Just opened the other field this evening, not much left on the other side after 2 months of grazing it down. Time to reseed, apply supplemental organic nutrients and repeat the cycle. Busted, good thing for him a song about mercy and grace was playing at the barn at the time I came down there to feed, water and collect eggs. He will be re-homed tonight in the national forest about 30 miles away.
Lost about 20 birds, that's about 7 -9 dozen eggs a week. I still think I have a fox or coyote problem, will see what else the trap catches. Fortunately no more chicken carcasses and the "Yard Guard" sonic/ ultrasonic frequency generator seems to be working.

I posted this a long, long time ago but I've received so many goat/pony/dog cart photos that I thought it might be time to post it again. The only chicken cart photo I've ever received. Josh looks to having a good time but the chicken looks like he'd rather be elsewhere.
