A wonderful dinner yesterday evening in the
First the wine. I had a bottle of the Adrianna Vineyard River Stones
It was absolutely wonderful. This bootle opened up nicely over the course of the dinner. Floral notes, with good smooth tannins and a minerality to it. Absolutely enjoyable!
The dinner was spot on as well. I started with the trio ceviche sampler. It was impossible to pick my favorite. Each was packed with a lot of flavor, and just the right amount of heat.
For my entree I had the paella. With yellow fin, prawns, and clams it struck a nice note. The saffron rice was cooked perfectly and had the crispy bottom that adds so much flavor to properly cooked .
Lastly I had the churros for dessert. They were freshly made and warm as they came out. Amazing!!
If in the Carlsbad area, this place is worth a try!

We had a great dinner the other night at
I finally tried the beef stroganoff. I’ve been several times and passed over it each visit. I’ve been missing out!
In addition to the meal we had several great wines including an oakville and a 2018 Howell mountain. Both delicious as always.

I love traveling to a few times a year, there are so many great restaurants.

A great evening with a few friends discussing the right banks we brought and enjoying the bonus port that was on hand. The 1998 was a very solid wine. The 2011 was the consensus favorite. And the was just not ready yet.
I always love these get togethers!
1994 made a great showing as a bonus wine we hadn’t planned on drinking. And lastly the 2011 will be an amazing bottle when it gets another decade under it.

A wonderful dinner at the a little while back that I never got around to posting about. As always the food was spot on and the wine selection wonderful. I loved the rabbit. The 1989 was still very much shining. Medium bodied and lovely tannins made it a silky and highly enjoyable wine. Great finish.

A wonderful bottle of the 2019 Yettalil. This wine is wonderfully balanced, pleasant, and leaves you wanting more. A Bordeaux style wine that lives up to the hype.

Great dinner with wonderful friends last night. It is always so much fun to have a meal, a few (or a lot) cocktails and good conversation with friends.
We dined at and I had the Black Spaghetti. Squid ink noodles, lemon butter, prawns, scallops, and clams. It delicious!

Well that was an epic dinner at last night. The first wine dinner they have hosted and it was a success! .penn.griffin paired up the wines perfectly with the dishes. The meal was fun, informative, and interactive! As always everything was perfect. The GM Alen Tanovic made the entire experience seamless.
My favorite dish was the Mezze Maniche with Octopus Ragu. With the octopus cooked in its own water and the noodles cooked in it as well the flavor was intense! There was also a special surprise Cab Franc served. Loved it!

It is fun to step out of the comfort zone and just see what you like and don’t like! The 2020 was my personal favorite, but many of the others were great as well!
