Hey everyone! It’s us again, plus a new tiny human!

I know it’s been a hot second since I’ve hopped on this account - no excuses, just life and babies!

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year and eagerly share that you’ll be seeing a lot more of my face in 2025 as I pursue my Health and Wellness business goals!

It’s my passion and dream to help people navigate the toxic world we live in and empower them to make the necessary switches for a healthier life. From food and household products to cosmetics and homeopathy, I want to create a single platform where I can share information and educate individuals about taking back control of what goes in and on their bodies.

I will be sharing my authentic self with you, not a polished account with the pristine house, garden, kids and perfect aesthetic. Because as much as I’ve tried, it is not my reality right now and I’ve learned to be ok with that.

As this landscape is ever-evolving, as I find my footing and hone in on what people need and want, and how best to deliver it, I hope you’ll join me on the journey!

And don’t worry - I’ll definitely throw in some adorable chook pics, some food p**n and even reels, if I can figure them out lol! (Tips and tutorials welcome!)

Be bold. Be brave. Be bonefide.

Happy Earth Day from our garden.

Being able to grow our own food mostly from seed and directly from the soil, brings us nothing but pure joy. We’re grateful daily for the things this planet provides us. It’s soo much more than just the air we breathe.

When you start looking, the links between plants and the human body are deeply intertwined. The Earth offers us all we need to heal, grow and thrive.

From teas to tinctures to homeopathy, we’re here for it all. And whatever we can grow ourselves, we’re sure going to try.

Just a little appreciation for all our ladies up in here! Well I think that’s all of them, we’ve lost count.

Snowy could be laying on the front porch and Skids is over there digging a crater sized mud pit for her daily dirt bath. No surprise there.

All these ladies are total work horses and we’re continually grateful for all the eggs, nourishment and entertainment they provide!

Let’s talk homeopathy. Most people think this means treating ailments at home and while this is true, it’s not the accurate definition.
Homoios translates as “similar”, while pathos means “disease” or “suffering”. Homeopathy means “similar pathology” and its science is based on the principle known as The Law of Similars.

A great example is onions. Anyone that’s chopped an onion knows you can be in floods of tears! Sometimes a runny nose and sneezing too! Hense why when a person has allergies and presents with all those symptoms, the homeopathic remedy we may reach for, “Allium cepa” an onion.

What we have to understand is that while conventional over the counter medicine, like Tylenol and Ibuprphens help only to suppress symptoms, they do not cure them. Homeopathy treats the root cause of an illness. It cures and heals.

The most important part, is correctly matching your symptoms to the remedy. It is fascinatingly specific. Thats where this amazing book comes in. However, the great thing unlike modern medicine is that you cannot overdose. The remedies are harmless.

So this week I began feeling those dreaded “vid” symptoms again and unlike last year when I was flat out for two weeks, I did not want to pump myself full of liver destroying Ibuprofen. From Tuesday night this is what I’ve used.

Sepia ~
known to cure left sided headaches, physical fatigue and feelings of being overwhelmed
Bryonia ~
symptoms made worse by any motion, sharp stitching pain, thirsty for cold drinks and irritable.
Belladonna ~
throbbing, stitching pain, sudden onset and disappearance of symptoms, especially fevers and cramps. Hypersensitivity to light
Gelsemium ~
physical and mental weakness, exhaustion, drowsiness, trembling and heaviness of eyelids.
Coffee cruda ~
sleep aid when there’s mental hyperactivity, constant flow of thoughts and heightened sensitivity to sound, ringing in the ears.

Now let me tell you, EVERY single one has done and is doing its job. It is the first time I have ever self remedied anything to this extent. I am blown away by the results and felt an overwhelming need to share.

I’m not a doctor. This is not medical advise. This is my personal experience.

Hello hibiscus flowers! From farm to tea cup, they bring out all those festive holiday vibes. They not only look stunning, taste sweet as can be, but also have soo many health benefits.

Soo many in fact I would need to start a blog, however that’s not going to happen anytime soon lol! Here’s the quick lowdown:

• Packed with antioxidants.

Antioxidants are molecules that help fight compounds called free radicals, which cause damage to your cells.

• Lowers blood pressure.

One of the most impressive and well-known benefits of hibiscus tea. Over time, high blood pressure can place extra strain on the heart and cause it to weaken. High blood pressure is also associated with an increased risk of heart disease.

• Lowers blood fat levels.

Some studies have found that hibiscus tea may help lower blood fat levels, which are another risk factor for heart disease.

• Boosts overall liver health.

From producing proteins to secreting bile to breaking down fat, your liver is essential to your overall health.
Interestingly, studies have shown that hibiscus may promote liver health and help keep it working efficiently.

• Can promote weight loss.

Several studies suggest that hibiscus tea may be associated with weight loss and protect against obesity.

• Can help prevent cancer.

Hibiscus is high in polyphenols, which are compounds that have been shown to possess powerful anti-cancer properties.

• Helps fight bacteria.

In addition to having antioxidant and anticancer properties, some test-tube studies have found that hibiscus could help fight bacterial infections.

There’s a new Daddy in town, eloquently named Mr Roo of course.

One of our lucky Freedom Rangers (meat birds) that had some albino swag, and that our 4yr old took a liking to.

He now rules the egg chooks roost, with all the required characteristics. He is however, the first rooster we’ve kept this long, as he’s yet to get aggressive toward us!?!
Fingers crossed it stays that way Mr Roo, or it’s the stew pot for you.

How lucky we are to have such a large nest egg, lol! An eggcelent selection of naturally dyed eggs, if we don’t say so ourselves.

Sending out all the eggtastic vibes on this beautifully sunny and 75 Easter Sunday in Florida.

We hope wherever you are there’s family, friends, some tasty yolks and yummy chocolate by your side.

Happy heart day from us to all your families on this love fuelled Sunday.

This picture only took me 45 minutes to set up due to chickens pecking at the eggs, small children swimming in the duck waterer, pesky peacocks swooping in for a tasty snack, you know, just the norm.

I got there in the end, and despite not being a massive fan of such a hallmark holiday, we feel it never hurt anyone to have a little reminder of all the love and good things in life. We are eternally full of all the feels for our happy chooks, the eggs and meat they provide us, our clients, and the land we are lucky enough to call home.

Happy New year from our farm to all your families!

The good news is that we've ordered new chicks, with an expected mid-April availability date.

Our tried and prized freedom ranger meat bird is an all-round phenomenal piece of poultry. Not only do they have a longer and much healthier life span, but these active, robust chicks are free-ranging, free-foraging, pasture-raised happy chooks! They produce tender, succulent meat with more yellow omega 3 fat and less saturated fat than fast-growing breeds.

We've 35 whole birds available for pre-order at $7.50 per lb, with a $10 deposit per bird. They range in weight form 3.5-5.5 lbs.

Along with a few thriving herbs in pots, Surinam spinach is about all we have been able to grow this season. And this is from a tiny ditch by the concrete driveway, believe it or not!

Due to heavy flooding, our designated garden area has been a swamp. Come January all will be well though, and we cannot wait to inundate you all with pretty pictures of delicious edibles!

Dappled sunlight amidst days of ominous rain and flooding makes me smile. We thought we'd had it, but this is by far THE worst flooding to date. We're not over the hump just yet; however, the shadows and giant reflections just got me all camera happy. We're also incredibly grateful we didn't plant the veggie garden yet.

My mind always wonders to all the people, not OK while trying to survive treacherous weather conditions. Some of the storms I've now witnessed have by far been the scariest moments in my life. Not to be taken lightly, ever.

At least our chooks and mama duckie have dry land to graze happily, albeit the only dry land on the property, not including the house. (which I would probably bring them into if I had to!) Yup .

We're filled to the brim with supplies, a new generator just in case and Disney plus! Feeling blessed and very lucky as always.

Stay safe and lend a helping hand to anyone else that may be in need.
