I spent this week in Washington, and I’m leaving with one conviction reinforced: the future of North American manufacturing will be written by the people who show up.
At Gould Industries, we don’t wait to be told what the rules will be. We go to where the rules are made, we sit down, we listen, and we contribute. This week that meant real conversations about trade, investment, and what it actually takes to build things on this continent; conversations that ended inside the White House itself.
Some will ask why a Canadian industrialist belongs in those rooms. My answer is simple: because we chose to be a North American manufacturer, not a spectator. We put our capital into Mississippi. We put our people on both sides of the border. When you invest in a country, you earn the right, and the responsibility, to be part of its conversation.
Policy is not weather. It doesn’t just happen to you; unless you let it.
To everyone who made time for these discussions this week: thank you. The collaboration between Canadian savoir-faire and American industrial ambition is not a talking point for us. It’s our business model.
We are doers. And doers don’t wait.
