When closed in 2022 and the building hit the market, the story could have ended like it has for so many other corner stores in DC. Instead, more than 75 neighbors formed an investment group, pooled their own money, and bought the building themselves.

Four years later, it’s finally back and better than ever:

☕ Coffee, pastries + made-to-order sandwiches
🛒 Groceries and everyday essentials (plus some nicer finds like good olive oil)
🍷 Beer + wine you can drink on site
🌿 Huge back patio with free wifi, perfect for working

Open:
Tue-Sat 8am-8pm
Sun 8am-3pm

.dc is exactly the kind of space that DC needed.

This lovely creative makers-space just opened in Mt Pleasant. It really does feel like you’re walking into a friend’s cozy apartment - shoes off, access to coffee and tea in the kitchen, bring your own food/drink from outside, and tons of comfy couches and cushions to cuddle up in.

Simply show up and get access to the space by paying $25 (includes free coffee+tea and access to all of the materials in their craft library - like a bead-making station, collage materials, sewing machine, and much more) or $15 (includes free coffee-tea - you bring your own project/laptop).

They also have regular classes and workshops, which would be such a fun date idea. Check out upcoming classes on their website.

Such a cool concept!
