We're honored to announce that Finca Chocolat has been recognized by the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator with its Nature-Based and Ecosystem Resilience Award!
This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects something we've believed since the day we purchased our land in southern Belize nearly eleven years ago: that agriculture and environmental stewardship don't have to compete—they can strengthen one another.
When we acquired the property, much of it had previously been cleared for cattle ranching. Since then, we've been working to restore it through a diversified agroforestry system that combines premium Trinitario cacao with native hardwoods and spices. Our goal has always been to create a farm that is productive, resilient, and capable of supporting both biodiversity and local livelihoods for generations to come.
Today, Finca Chocolat spans 515 acres and continues to expand its regenerative farming practices while supplying fine-flavor cacao to chocolate makers around the world. Every season we plant thousands of additional cacao trees and hardwoods, improve our processing infrastructure, and look for new ways to increase the long-term sustainability of the farm.
Awards like this belong to the people who make the work possible. Thank you to our incredible team in Belize, our investors who believed in this vision from the beginning, our customers who value responsibly produced cacao, and our partners who continue to support our journey.
