Our Tawny Port Style wine, made from Virginia Norton Grapes, is really starting to come into its own on year 2. The nutty aromas with slight cacao and flavors of rich caramel and fig really shine when paired with the creamy . Looking forward to bottling this vintage in the next year or so.

At the present moment, Albariño, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and Petit Verdot all look to have suffered a 20-25% loss of this year's crop due to the freeze from a few weeks ago.

The Merlot, fortunately, has not experienced any loss at all, although the vines are behind schedule over the previous vintages. Well, like the saying goes, better late harvest than never.

One of THE quintessential pairings when it comes to wine, Port and Blue-veined cheese.

Portugal's signature red wine, Port is fortified with Brandy, and is typically sweet. It comes in various styles, the most famous being Ruby, Vintage and Tawny, but you will also find white and rosé varieties. Rich, powerful and sweet, Port wines will often exhibit notes of chocolate, coffee, dried orange peel, and in the case of oxidized varieties, nutty notes like almond, hazelnut or marzipan. Perfect to pair with the creamy, salty and savory flavors of a chunk of Gorgonzola or Stilton cheese.
